Maria! I love when people write about oneshot characters. Depicting hers and Kolchak's first meeting is a very creative idea.

It's fun to see her become so interested in and fascinated with Kolchak when he wanders in. I really enjoy reading her observations on him and his background and personality.

The way Kolchak is so affected by Las Vegas is very poignant. And Maria's horror when she drops the cup, and her visions with the next cup, are such quiet, bittersweet foreshadows of what's to come.
