Your explanation at the end there... actually does sound somewhat logical, given the overall tone of the series.

All in all, I really enjoyed this story and was freaked the hell out by it as each part was revealed. Never would have come up with something as unique and creepy as this. Kyubey just became even scarier in my opinion.
