wow- very good job with this introspection- I think the answer to your final question is this- NO tara is not the one for finch becuase she is "no good"- and he did not know the true Tara- but YES Finch does need a woman in his life- someone ot share- he secretly ongs for the same thing that John overtly ongs for - which is a chance to have a "True Family" and someon to love- we see John in many different episodes looking in the window at ohter numbers who have homes and family and hear the wistfulness in his voice- we KNOW he wanta normalcy and a home- I think He and Harold are kindred spirits and no NOT slash- but kindred in that they BOTH care- and they both want a house and home- Harold should keep looking and he will one day find her- the woman he can open up to- AND share his secret work- one who will NOT be selfish but be willing to do all she can to hel- YOU can write that woman- so we can read it- teehee- hint hint- but anyway- good job!
