I like how you described the situation. I especially like Xavier, he seems like a cold old man who hates life, but that just might be the thing that will allow him to survive (I think)
I found one mistake. "GET US OUT OF HER!" I think you meant "GET US OUT OF HERE!" Otherwise, it was very well-written.

Very nice, I like this story so far. Interesting to see things from Xavier's perspective. Hope you plan on updating soon!
