jh 2004-03-25 . chapter 2 ...What!? Your story didn't make sense! You seem to be a true Urusei Yatsura expert, and perhaps I simply missed something, but the second chapter had little to nothing to do with the first. I'm not entirely familiar with Ryuunosuke; and your comments about his/her gender are very confusing (I thought SHE was just a severe tomboy). Lastly, the title is very misleading; other than a gender switch, this has nothing to do with the Ranma series. This story is still mostly entertaining, but it needs work. |
Ron Dow75 2002-05-31 . chapter 2I agree with everything Damien said, but one. Ataru's feelings, both negative and positive, is for Lum's soul. Away from hers, and seeking a little revenge, he felt free to revert to type [note Sakura and the earmuffs], especially since he didn't FEEL like it was his own body [as he did in the gender rifle episode].
But please read on, this story is not about sex, it is about gender. Ataru's section is a set up for what follows. |
Damien 2002-05-30 . chapter 1The review section in my opinion is not the best place for this discussion, but lacking a better forum, here goes:
I view that episode differently than you do. At first, things happen like you say, but when time approached for the actual deed, Ataru becomes nervous and tries to back out, but Lum coaxes him a long and then puts the suit on him, which "saves" him from having to go through with it.
You are free to write your story anyway you wish, but in my view the reason Ataru avoids holding hands, kissing, looking at, or having sex with Lum is becuase he would "lose" himself to her and there would be no going back. Just because he is in her body, his reasons for avoiding her would not change; in fact they would become more acute. Eventually I would think Ataru would figure Lum getting her body back. I also think Lum is the one woman, Ataru actually has respect for and putting her body on public display and otherwise using her in those ways is something I frankly can't see him doing.
Just my views, not law...

Ron Dow75 2002-05-30 . chapter 1In answer: When she didn't look "weird", when she wasn't superior and threaten his fragile male ego, Ataru would look at her with something beyond mere lust. In the anime, when he finally got wise and tried to have sex with Lum, he had to wear a body-covering suit to protect himself from her electrical discharges. - Now that he no longer has to worry about those things, he meant to enjoy what he hadn't been able to do before. |
Damien 2002-05-30 . chapter 2In any other girl's body, Ataru *may* (why all of a sudden is he an exhibitionist?) behave they way you insinuate, but Lum's??? Hardly. There are times when he avoids even looking at her, for fear of buckling for her allures. I doubt he want other guys oggling her body either. For me, atleast, I couldn't get past his behavior to enjoy the story very much. |
