A surprising pairing! This was very well written. You could really feel jean Bob's pain and Iddettes. I hadn't considered this pairing before. Well done in the description of the scenes the characters and the tale itself . I can't wait to read more unluckily pairings. You make them work so well and seem natural . :).

Though I am die hard fan of Oderek, I liked the concept of this story. It was interesting and brave of you. I believe you did very well.

I'm really charmed by this coupling! I had never thought about it before... If you think about it, Derek, IMHO never truly loved her... I mean, he never reveals just what about her that he loves. It's like he has some retarded revelation when he believes her dead/kidnapped that she is his OTL and goes to any length to save her! He only does it because he lusts after her so much that he deludes himself into believing he's in love.

Whereas Jean-Bob is with her during the entirety of her imprisonment and curse. Yes he sees how beautiful she is, but half of the time she's a swan, and so he gets to know who she is. And over time, he grows to love and care for her both as a friend and a lover.

Which kind of makes it all the more tragic when single-brained Derek gets to save the day, break the curse, and get the girl!
