Aww, this was sweet and funny at times, I loved it. I love canon pairings (except for one little LunaXNeville, but I don't mind them with Rolf (Luna) and Hannah (Neville) either. Supporting Canon; Always.

I like that you kept the Ron/Hermione relationship awkward and subtle. While it would have been lovely if Ron had dumped Lavender and immediately confessed his love to our favorite bushy-haired bookworm, it probably didn't happen that way. You have a few phrases in here that I adore, and I really think capture the way the characters feel at this point in HBP. In particular:

"I mean, no, we weren't up to anything worthy of her accusations, but...oh bloody hell... what I'm trying to say is...you and me... that's not so...unbelievable...is it?" Ron finished, looking hard at the ground.
- so wonderful. I love that it's obvious that the two of them are aware of what is going on between them, but are still unwilling / unable to do anything about it. So Ron-and-Hermione.

Okay - I always love Won Won and Lav Lav break-up fics. And this was great I loved to moment of honestly for Ron, your descriptions and dialogue. Congrates

Constructive criticism, this is not actually cannon compliment. I've had to read and reread this scene millions of time and you misremembered three things. They weren't up there for an hour, just a few minutes. JKRs description of the break-up is Lavender yelled a lot and Ron was a coward. (which always makes me think of the cowardly lion in the Wizard of Oz) Also they were following him down the stairs trying to stop him because he was going to Hagrid's not to Slughorn. If that was your intention not to be cannon, good for you! If it wasn't and you do want to be cannon... re-read cannon and add some lines to TWEAK!

I know I sound like a total killjoy and know-it-all; but I'm REALLY not. Why am I so hot on cannon: well I'm a cannon missing moment writer myself (have been for six years). When I started writing I set myself the challenge that EVERYTHING interrelates to cannon and my own universe. (Otherwise known as a recipe for a migraine) I've written this scene twice (because I love it). 1) In Seamus Night In where we see Lavender yell A LOT Ron is struck dump by the scene so Hermione shouts too... 2) soon to be published Rebound Relationships in which we see this whole mess from Ron's point of view...

However, because of Rebound Relationships I have to go back and RE-edit Seamus Day Out (the day Ron was poisoned) and Seamus Night In. Which is just wonderful (I tell myself) because these fics are my babies.

Basically what I'm saying is you have played with JKR's very well. You have a great imagination. The characters are basically in character (I love your Ginny) and it's an enjoyable read. Congrates again...

I like this story. Everyone is in character, especially Ron. Of course he didn't defend himself. Bless. You really do feel sorry for Hermione here - no one envies her having to share a room with Lavender for that entire year.

Well, I have to say I'm glad you reviewed my story as it has let me discover yours! This is the first I've read but I really liked it and I'm definitely going to read your others! You write Ron and Hermione both brilliantly in character and I think this is very realistic - especially how Lavender reacted. I've never actually thought about what happened after Harry left them... thanks for filling in the blanks!

Nice expanded moment of Ron and Lavender's break-up. Aren't we glad that's over... Poor Hermione having to face Lavender that evening. That would make a good plot for a one-shot. Thanks for writing!
