Oh, that was just wonderful! Wonderful! The only problem with it-I wish it could have been longer so that I could savor it some more. Very lovely. So glad Ducky isn't dead in yours (I read he had renewed his contract. Hurray!).

This is GORGEOUS. I love the progression from numbness to confusion to anger to calm...so lovely. Every detail...the consideration of retiring, Ziva feeling like their home has been destroyed, Tony going to see Gibbs, McGee being in the hospital and everyone feeling wrong about it, Tony acknowledging that he needs to get his head on straight. But the multiple languages of "I love you" compared against the one language from Tony is, however, my favorite moment.

This was perfect...and lovely...and perfect; just what I was looking for when I started reading NCIS fic after that finale.

This is a beautiful story. Your writing style is so minimal, but it conveys so much about how the events in the finale effect the team, and how they interact with and comfort each other. I love it, especially the scenes between Tony and Ziva.

I too wondered why they were in the elevator. The only reason I could come up with was they were working there way down floor by floor to the garage and were going to exit that way. They didn't need to check autopsy because Ducky and Palmer were gone. They might have been going to Abby's lab however.

Also the real NCIS has moved from the Navy Yard in DC to Quantico (a lot of law enforcement agencies are at Quatico as we learned in that bank robbery episode a few seasons ago) so the explosion give the show a reason to do the same I suppose.

Yes, McGee would need longer in the hospital than the rest of the team based on where he was when the blast happened.

Story idea - since we can assume the whole team is taken to Bethesda after the blast who might come to see them? Maybe put Senior, Jackson, Penny and Eli in an elevator going to see them there. Just a thought.
