All I can say about this is "frickin wow"! I don't think I've read this type of plot before-yes, Edward really's got a mess on his hands. I'm going to cross my fingers and hope there is more to the accident than him falling asleep at the wheel. It's heartbreaking-one child lost and another seriously injured.
I often wonder how doctors manage the incredibly long shifts they sometimes work, especially interns. My daughter is planning to become some type of doctor-I often remind her it is one hella long journey that is in no way easy. I cringe to think this kind of thing can happen. So, so sad.
Yes, poor Charlie. I suspect when he was learning more about the accident he was told who the other driver was. It seems logical that could happen. I doubt anyone "ratted him out." At least at the moment.

Edward is at the hospital. He is in Bella's room and Charlie comes in. Edward doesn't know how to tell him that he caused the accident. Did he really cause the accident and only thinks that he did? Did soemthing else cause it? He tells Rose that he did. She is upset wan wants to call her father. Edward says no. She's mad and then goes to work. Edward goes back to the hospital even though he sick. What does Charlie know about the accident? What did happen? Does Edward even know what happened? Next chapter!

My heart has been in my throat this whole 4 chapters.
You've painted a wall of such different emotions.
This is so hard. The guilt out weighs any punishment I can think of. To survive things like this is so much harder than not.
Im scared to know what's next but can't wait to find out.
