Guest 2/24/13 . chapter 37 Madam, you are the next jk Rowling. I swear, I will find an editor and make him/her PUBLISH this Fanfiction because it is better than half the books I've read. I do hope that you post the sequel(but I didn't check yet). To be honest, I cried when Arthur died. That is how amazing you are. |
Molly 1/15/13 . chapter 21 Ugh, I should be doing German coursework but this fic is too good! Can't stop reading, love it :) |
A Shadow Away 1/13/13 . chapter 37Wow, this is just unbelievable. Had some confusing moments but they were explained later one. But wow! An ending just like in Inception. Anyways tha is for a great story(: |
danastarry 1/9/13 . chapter 37UM WELL WOW FIRST OFF LEMME JUST UH SAY THAT UH IF YOU LEAVE US WITH AN ENDING LIKE THAT I'LL BE SORELY DISAPPOINTED FOR THE REST OF THE DAY. and tomorrow I'll probably be fine. But every time I think of this beautiful story I'll have the same disappointment. I mean I haven't checked your account yet to see if there actually is a posted sequel, and if there is, then I'm very sorry you have to read this ranting and ravings. Otherwise, we shall resume here. My heart was breaking for poor Ariadne. And for Eames! My baby! I hope he reconnects with his wife. Something. He deserves happiness. But I always sort of pictured some epic entrance of a business woman handing Ari a slip of paper with like an address on it or something. And then she'd just take off knowing Arthur was there. GAH SO COOL. I Sincerely hope you are doing this sequel. Even if it's five or six chapters of pure bliss. (: |
danastarry 1/8/13 . chapter 19I just knew Eames would go for Jeeps. What beautiful machinery. Of course he would want the finest car with the most strength. Much love for that. Anyway, I was hoping there would be some sort of old love line with Eames. (He's my favorite, if you haven't guessed yet haha) Sad about it being an ended marriage. I hope he gets back with her. Or gets a new girl. In my most humble opinion, Eames doesn't get hardly as much love as he deserves haha. Anyway, I really love this story. I thought it was a little extreme how Arthur killed like an entire gang after only killing two others in real life-but I feel like it'll make more sense with the next few chappies I read. Plus, it makes for interesting developments in their relationship-that Arthur is like a self-degenerating time bomb, slowly consuming himself and perhaps eventually imploding on itself. Epic stuff. |
greymidnight 1/6/13 . chapter 37This story is magnificent. I have to admit I was skeptical at first; the story was slow to pick up and was, what I thought, lacking in development. But I kept reading; and I was certainly rewarded for that. There are so many things that make this story wonderful; to me, the characters, the conflict, and the plot stood out in particular. Your character development is very good. As aforementioned, I felt the introduction was not very smooth in this area; Ariadne and Cobb felt a bit out of character. While each of their actions were justifiable, and something I can envision the characters doing in the situation, the way the characters spoke didn't relay their intentions as clearly and accurately as possible. (I think this was the reason behind other people's complaints on Cobb being OOC). Despite the rough start, the rest of the story was excellent. Arthur's backstory was breathtaking, both from how horrible it was and how well-developed it was. Cobb's regret for his actions was touching. I loved Eames in particular: the care he extended to Ariadne, the construction of his backstory, and his buoyant, flirtatious personality were a brilliant combination that really brought him to life. Yusuf was rather lacking in movement; the only thing I really saw was that he was far more nervous than he let on at times, and that he's a calm and capable healer. Ariadne was refreshingly independent but very honest with herself; and Micah. Oh, I love Micah! His backstory, how his past developed his relationship with Arthur, his general altruism and protectiveness of the people he cared for. Your characters were fabulous; that is the first thing that makes this story spectacular. Second, the conflict. The main conflict – Browning's request and the difficulty of performing a reverse-inception – was good. But what really brought this story alive was all the other, smaller conflicts. Starting with inter-character relationships. Cobb's actions (and blatant blackmailing) made him despicable and disliked by nearly everyone on the team; but over the course of the story, this was resolved, with the other characters coming to understand Cobb and Cobb earning their forgiveness through his actions. The biggest character conflict: Arthur versus Ariadne. While their relationship started well, Cobb's actions began to put a strain on and reveal problems in their relationship. The way Arthur and Ariadne were forced apart – mostly by their own stubborn reticence – was believable and heartbreaking, and when they made up right before the job, their sad acceptance of highly likely doom was shatteringly beautiful. Eames and Arthur: the lovely friends/enemies relationship. Throwing Eames' affections for Ariadne in there made this dynamic entertaining and all the more difficult. But Arthur and Eames managed to resolve things; they accepted each others' roles in their lives and their standing when it came to Ariadne. Then there were the internal conflicts. We see Arthur's heartbreak over Ariadne's "rejection" of him; Arthur's reconciliation with his family; Arthur's acceptance of death; Eames struggles to sort out his emotions for Ariadne and Arthur; Cobb's self-hate is saddening; Micah's multiple conflicts (to dream or not dream; to trust or not trust Arthur; to continue dreaming or to stop) are excellently played out. Then, the plot. The concept of reverse inception was interesting, and not one I have seen before. Throw in the little conflicts and a deadly projection of Ariadne, and you have a roiling plot with endless opportunities for action and character development. Lastly, the ending. I love the ambiguity of the ending! Goodness, the ambiguous and heartbreaking endings are my favorite. This ending was perfect for the story, though, because it establishes with finality whom Arthur truly is: a man shrouded in mystery. I also appreciate how preserving Ariadne is; even when she sends away Eames, she still has the will to live. She doesn't take her own life, nor does she fall into the dark path Cobb went down when Mal died. Overall, a huge bravo to you for this amazing story. It certainly entertained me for the majority of my vacation! |
While 1/2/13 . chapter 1Ok, the 200th review, this has to be something good, so I'll try. We have holidays in Germany and I was bored so I thought 'read the last chapters of this great Inception fanfiction !', so I started reading it a few hours ago and by the time I read the last chapter I started to cry very hard and that doesn't happen very often when I read a story or watch a film or something. The Grey's Anatomy season finality I watched before I started reading doesn't even come close to your fanfic. It was wonderful and great and you did what seemed to be impossible: you made some kind of a happy ending because there is still hope for Ariadne that Arthur is still alive (When I came to this point of the chapter I started to smile (: ). And you are right: There are a lot of people who hate you for this damn ending of this story. Well, I am really reliefed that you didn't write one of those mainstream happy endings because they really bore me and I loved the ending of Inception because I can talk about it with my friends for hours and hours but... You want to torture me, right ? Please, PLEASE (!) post the Sequel as fast as you can because I am dying not knowing how the story goes on ! It wouldn't be the same if I have to think of a good ending by myself you write perfect my imagination is like a book for under six year old comparing to your writing. I loved the whole fanfic, I love your ending, I love everything ! This is the first fanfiction I ever reviewed to that often and the first fanfiction I read until the end and ... It's the best I read until now (maybe there follows another masterpiece written by you) ! Ok, enough of the fangirling. I am sure I only wrote a third of all I wanted to write, but I can't remember if I forgot anything, but I have got one (for me very important) question left before I'm done with my final review to your fantastic fanfiction: What about Arthurs legs ? There were some hints all over the story that there is/was something wrong with them but you never revealed what. Or did I understand something wrong ? I really, really, REALLY enjoyed reading this story, it was great from the beginning to the very end and I am a little bit sad that it is over by now. I hope I am going to read more fantastic stuff from you, because it was really fun writing reviews to your stories :) And I really hope there aren't too many mistakes in this one. I wrote fast because of all the stuff that raced through my mind. |
eldoylerado 12/31/12 . chapter 37Ahhhh. I just discovered this a couple of days ago and just finished it now, and it has to be said that this is my favourite Incetion fanfiction, and I have read a LOT. So yes, I suppose I shall start the sequel now... |
Leah 12/27/12 . chapter 2 You're a very good writer. |
Knuckiducki 12/10/12 . chapter 37I thought I could wait, til I can post the 200th review, but seeing that you're already posting the sequel made me change my mind. I LOVE the end, how Adam and Ariadne met and she checked if it realy isn't Arthur. And the message just made me cry again. Damn you! But what I like most of all: hurray! Arthur is still alive, at least there's a chance. I'm so excited to read the sequel! I have to confess: I'm a sucker for strong female characters in literature! Can't wait to watch Ariadne fight for her guy! |
