This was an emotional roller coaster of the best kind. Not often I'm brought to tears when I read a BSG story, but I was blinking them back a few times here. Wonderful character you created in Gem. Awesome relationship and very convincing that he finally fell head over heels in love. The only thing I didn't understand was how Starbuck ended up so far ahead of the fleet on the prison colony.
His triumphant return to duty with CORA as his conduit was inspired. Excellent story.

"'Damned if that man couldn't charm the devil out of Hell.'"

HA! I love that line! And I love Starbuck. This was a really wonderful story. I especially like how Starbuck wasn't totally "fixed"-that is, he couldn't actually speak again, but he could still fly. Truly great!

You have a talent for heart-rending stories. I sat and cried after the Captain and the King, and I'm crying over this one as well. It's no wornder your writing is so draining for you. Again, my hat is off to you, and I will wait most patiently for updates to anything you write. You're on my author alert list simply because I love this style of writing, the emotional realism of your work. Keep up the good work!

An excellent story! I loved every minute of it! Though have to admit the idea of Starbuck not gaining his voice back completely was a little hard to take.
Still it is a great Battlestar Galactica story and look forward to reading more of your work sometime in the future.

Wow. I wish I could review this a hundred times. It deserves WAY more than just three :) Starbuck's been my favorite since the first time I watched BG, and I love stories about him. He's so complex as a character, not just the flirty flyboy so many people write him as, and you got that right :) Thanks for doing such an awesome job.
