Brite's characters pulled after she contacted the website and asked that they not allow stories based on her characters so I know the feeling. You could get away with one or at most two F-bombs in a T fic, and survive the purges, but more than that was a no-goer. It's just that the number of people breaking the rules was so much greater than those following them, and than the ffnet mods' ability to keep track of, that people got blase about what was site-accepted and what wasn't. |
