I really like this AU. Especially with how believable the bulk of it is. And then there's the whole flow. And the few heart wrenching moments amongst all that tearing angst and tension etc.

This is an interesting story. I'm really getting into this AU that you've made. You are a great writer. Keep it up... Though I have to say I would like "Shortest distance" updates. I don't know how you can write two stories at once that are so different.

I suppose, Kanji isn't wrong about that. But Naoto really thought this was the way she had to do it.
And oh my god, I totally didn't see it coming that he would declare his love for her like that! He's probably very surprised by that, too, but she really doesn't know what to say to this, haha.

"At first, Kanji pretended not to hear, and he'd have been lying if he said he wasn't jealous - but the way Naoto immediately looked up at him and squeezed his hand helped ease it away."
Oh my.. That was so adorable! Because now she finally understands him and that he easily gets a bit jealous. ;)
Well, I thought Kanji would get the meaning of this, too, but maybe he really needs Naoto to tell him she's not interested in Souji.. I mean.. Yeah, it makes sense, while he said something to her, she didn't really do the same..

"Kanji couldn't imagine Ma getting tired of Naoto. Well, okay, he couldn't imagine anyone getting tired of Naoto, which probably said more about him than Naoto herself"
That was so perfect, haha..
And I just loved the ending! Because Naoto is so right here and I think you wrote her perfectly.. How she understands now (like everyone else) that running away won't solve your problems and that she knows that now and even has friends! She won't have to do anything of that alone now. :) A perfect ending, I think!

Well it was an awesome fic to the end. What else can I say, I really enjoyed it and that's that.
