You hit all the right notes with this. The relationship between these two is always so understated, but it's there. We get tiny glimpses of it, usually around the corners of the story. When fanfic writers take the expressions of friendship too far, or make these two characters more emotional than they were in the series, the story loses it's authenticity. I loved the opening scene of this ep. You rarely catch Saunders so depleted, without the willpower to muscle through his situation. It's nice to see someone taking care of him for a change. You gave Hanley a great out there with the Captain. Nice touch.
Can't wait to see what you are going to treat us with next.
