Oh yeah, since Merida is the firstborn child of Fergus and Elinor, she is the one who will become the ruler of DunBroch, so that pretty much leave the triplets to do whatever they want with their lives.

I like your ideas of what the boys would be doing when they are teens, and I thought it would make sense for one of them to take after Merida in archery, and part of them being different from each other as they grow older is the type of weapon they prefer to use. I also think it's interesting that they would gain love interests from daughters of the neighboring lords, though they each will marry when they are ready to do so.

So now all four of them are grown up with spouses of their own...but it's clear that they all still have their competitive spirits from their childhoods. I guess some things never change. ;)

I like how you're developing the story, fleshing out the characters. Now would be the time to start setting up the conflict, the obstacle to a happy ending. Do the clans have enemies? Will Merida be fought over by another?
Pardon the coaching, but I would like to suggest more detail, especially physical. I can picture the characters well enough so far, but how about the background? What sort of trees, flowers, ponds, lakes, etc. Where is the thistle, the gorse, the rills, bogs, byrnes and braes? Coloring your story with background gives it more life. Otherwise, you're moving along very well. Keep it up!

Aaaaw! So cute! I loved the boys in the movie, but they were really only there to terrorize poor Maudie and run urgent errands for Merida. This made them seem more like real people and less like pets. Well done!
