Well done. As you mentioned in your first post, there are lots of stories about B&B in high school. I'm a sucker for them.

Your story has some unique qualities and ideas. I like the AU of Booth's mom being around, and I'm glad the foster-mother was leaving the abusive situation. Your portal was sadly accurate. The time surrounding an abuse victim leaving is the most dangerous time. This is one of the reasons victims do not leave, even though they must for a life of safety.
