Brilliant use of non-verbal dialogue. Beautiful characterizations so far - I'm already in love with the greasy git, somehow even before the story REALLY starts to unfold.

I really liked how you used the flashback sort of thing when Hermione was thinking of the end of the war - it was wonderfully placed and matched seamlessly with the scene going on around it.

Oh, and asking Dumbledore to dance? The most hilarious/sweet/brilliant thing I've read in an HP fic so far. :D

Kudos on a fantastic start, I'm off to read more.

I stumbled across your piece today and I am quite captivated by the story. Please, keep it coming! I would be delighted to see more of Snape and Hermione's reactions after one of these sessions in particular. But the plot is very engaging. Great work!

I hope you plan on continuing with this story. It's a fascinating and original character study.
I do wonder that Hermione is coping with this so well. After all, she is essentially being saddled with the emotions of an abuse victim. It's a one-way street, apparently, and I think perhaps she might be denying the toll something like this would inevitably take on her. Perhaps a chapter explaining her state of mind?
