Well done, although I am certainly enjoying your AU story more.

I've read this twice over now and find it tugs at the heart even more the second time than the first. It is so heartbreaking yet so fitting, so tender. I was particularly moved by the image of Miss Galindo preserving the precious flowers Mr. Carter brought to her, and of her struggle not to think of what might have been.

One happy thought, though, is that now you have seen to it Miss Galindo does not weep alone after all...
