Reviews for Halls of Stone and Iron
mille libri 6/17/13 . chapter 9
Poor Enos. He's having his eyes opened mighty wide all of a sudden - and back in Hazzard, so is Daisy. I like the fatherly view of Rosco here, too.

Shoot, catching a train won't be nothing. These boys are used to jumping in and out of The General's windows going faster than a box train can go!
JadedPhoenixBurning 6/14/13 . chapter 43
Loved seeing the fiery Daisy Duke in this section. If she can't sweet-talk someone into talking then she can threaten them.
JadedPhoenixBurning 6/14/13 . chapter 42
Couldn't figure out why Jack seemed to be telling Enos what he needs to know about riding trains. It's like he is telling him to leave but I know he wasn't. From reading the reviews I know that the trains will factor in a lot later but that doesn't make the mention of it easier to understand for me here. Basically, I stayed confused during the chapter. Sorry.

{She pulled it out and stared at it, not understanding why he would have a letter addressed to Dr. Charles Applby of Hazzard , Georgia.} Missing the E in Appleby.

{"Well, I can't say that mine is the best story you'd hear from an old hobo. There's lots of reasons why kids run off, and some of them are pretty good. After the Depression, a lot of boys left home because there just wasn't any other way for them to survive. Times were hard and most of them had fuller stomachs dinging than they ever had at home.

"Dinging?"}
Missing a quotation mark after HOME. Though I'll admit that the following dialogue sections completely lost me. I couldn't tell if ONE person was saying several lines or not with the way it was posted.
JadedPhoenixBurning 6/14/13 . chapter 41
Humm, considering that this whole thing started with a murder, I'd say Daisy had a poor choice of book selection. It's clear that Daisy hasn't thought of the mental and emotional wounds that Enos has that only he can heal. She has a long road ahead of her in that aspect.

{Everything had changed with his father's deathe and he'd spent his adolescence trying to escape them and his adulthood trying to ignore them, but in the end they'd swallowed him up again.}
A quick edit of the sentence is needed for "death".
JadedPhoenixBurning 6/14/13 . chapter 40
Loved the scene with Rosco.
DixieDavenport 6/2/13 . chapter 49
It may not have been part of anyone's plan but sure glad Enos decided to jump on the train with Daisy.

Ohhhh! How did Bo become part of Luke's plan to find Daisy? I was expecting him to fight tooth and nail against Bo going with him! But, yet he woke Bo up to go with him! Expected him to slip out and ditch Bo, leaving him to help Jesse.

I both LOVE and Hate how Enos feels about Daisy. Going to NO end to keep her safe from harm, while putting her through the pain of him NOT getting closer to her.

Ok, wait, hold up a second, they drove the General Lee to TN? An expect not to get caught out of the County for a Parole violation, or be recognized as the Duke boys!? Umm What were they thinkin'?

Ok so we have Bo and Luke heading out to catch a train, hoping to find Daisy and Enos without being caught out of the County!? !? Very interesting! Hope to see more soon! Love the story!
mille libri 5/29/13 . chapter 8
I could feel his frustration, and I'd be shouting at the windows, too, in his shoes. I wonder what Daisy thinks she's going to accomplish - I hope she can find a way to help!
Enos'sGal 5/29/13 . chapter 49
Forgot to add how much I enjoyed seeing Luke's thoughts on the past. How it was for him as a child after his Aunt died. That explains a lot of the impatience we sometimes see (if we could call it that) it's a loving impatience, wanting to protect his kin, but probably yearning to have someone around to look after him the way Aunt Lavinia had when they were little. GREAT WORK!
Enos'sGal 5/29/13 . chapter 49
Daisy needs to listen to her instincts about Enos running off! Good thing she's real sharp about that!

Oh Enos! You can't run off and leave Daisy behind you idiot! I LOVED this line: "His arms tightened around her shoulders in fierce protectiveness - with a love that was almost painful to him, and he wished with all his heart that he could keep her safe."

While he's seeing that feeling and falling more and more everyday, he's still fighting that sense of right and wrong, thinking he's going to get her killed. Poor guy! They need to get clear of the FBI and live happily ever after or somebody better find the real killer!

AHHH! I LOVE JACK! Gosh I'd give that man a big ol' kiss on the cheek! Also loved this: LOL'd...a lot!

"You think she broke Enos out 'cause she felt guilty?" he asked, in disbelief. "You know, Luke, sometimes home's not the place you belong...it's with who. Seems t' me y'all've got a lot t' learn about love."

"Catch a train!" HAHA! Love it! Way to set the young whippersnappers straight! So are Bo and Luke going to ride the rails, too! LOVE IT!

GREAT CHAPTER! Lots of emotion in here (still have a tear in my eye) and I'm still wondering what's next!

How exciting, your update came just as I was checking my mail. Missed you! I love the details you have in your stories. Just enough information that I see in my mind everything Daisy and Enos see. And I love that they are getting closer and closer. Hope Luke was listening to the advise he was given in regards to what Daisy is truly feeling. If you want to help Luke , go find the person who set poor Enos up!
mille libri 5/28/13 . chapter 7
I appreciate the darker side to Enos here, the cracks in his control, and the hint of a carefully hidden intelligence underneath. It's one of the things about him that makes your stories stand out and adds depth to your version of the Hazzard world.
mille libri 5/19/13 . chapter 6
The circumstantial evidence looks like it has the noose around Enos's neck! How will he and Daisy find a way out of this one? Can't wait to see...
mille libri 5/15/13 . chapter 5
Poor Enos! His bewilderment is very strong here in all the clinical details - that's very well done. And something tells me Daisy's letter isn't going to be the get out of jail free card she thinks it is.
mille libri 5/13/13 . chapter 4
Oh, Enos. What kind of a mess have you gotten yourself in this time? Dare I hope Uncle Jesse has a law degree hidden somewhere in his bag of tricks?
