WarriorPoetGirl 1/17/13 . chapter 1Awww! So cute! |
amiontop 11/24/12 . chapter 1 This is so cute.. I can imagine the older version of Squall doing this ;P |
Fantasy Fan Girl 10/29/12 . chapter 1How have I missed all these oneshots! This is excellent, and I can say now that him doing that to her would be sooooo mean. I mean, I know it would have given me a heart attack if in that position. But, ehhh I guess she deserved it considering lol. Anyway, like always, this is written extremely well. The ending was random but in a good way. Like it tied it all up and made it very lighthearted. Keep it up :) |
Angel-Wings Naya 9/14/12 . chapter 1Aww, that was both romantic and hilarious! I always knew Squall had a peculiar but amazing sense of humor! hehe! xD Loved it! No one can predict the future, there are no guarantees Naya! |
pinkperson 9/1/12 . chapter 1Hehe, that was really cute. Especially Rinoa wanting her last name to be Loire :) |
Rosa Heartlily 8/31/12 . chapter 1This was a really nice piece and a great entry for the challenge. Nice turning-the-tables from Squall. Loved the description of the stars and Rinoa's thought processes. |
Twin-Lance 8/31/12 . chapter 1What a cute story! I loved seeing this side of Squall. I really loved him threatening to take the ring back over her desire to be Rinoa Loire. lol Great job. :) |
WishingDreamer5 8/16/12 . chapter 1This was so adorable! I didn't guess that Squall was just doing that on purpose, even though it should probably be more than obvious. Still, I really enjoyed reading this. I usually don't like reading things written in first person, but this was definitely an exception. |
Summoner Luna 8/10/12 . chapter 1Very cute! You did a great job showing both Squall's awkwardness and his snarkiness. Thanks for submitting this to the challenge! |
Niqsta 8/10/12 . chapter 1Oh Rinoa Loire, that'd be so awkwardly epic! This line, "It doesn't sound like him, but once the world isn't watching him, he completely changes to a big softy." is what sells this piece. Often I'll come across people using the OOC tag whenever Squall does something romantic, or flirts with Rinoa or just anything that doesn't seem 'Squall'. But that sentence is absolutely correct, there is the Squall that the world sees, then the Squall that his friends see, and finally the vulnerable, emotional and sensitive Squall that Rinoa sees . . . and for arguments sake, we'll add in Ellone - though that could be deemed as cheating ;) You pulled this off pretty nicely, and I like how Squall was the one playing Rinoa all along. Also, can't help but notice this is the first postgame I've read from you, and you did a good job of it. Nice to have you back :) |
Ashbear 8/9/12 . chapter 1Well, I for one, thin you can do something that’s not serious and dark just fine. I *could* say light and fluffy, but I won’t throw those labels on you. Plus I can’t wait for your other story, so won’t be too difficult - then again, haven’t we decided I’m basically Ultimecia? Therefore can use my power to coerce you into writing more. On a serious note, I can say that I’m glad you expanded into a slightly more unfamiliar territory. I think writing different perspectives, styles, and genres can keep the process of writing fresh, especially if you’re exploring all of these in the same fandom. As for this, the most notable thing to me was that although it was his ‘softer side,’ he never lost his character. Squall was his usual observant self. Even when you thought he was having a difficult time and stalling, it wasn’t – we also learned that Squall can act when needed. ;) I think the biggest contrast is between what you ‘think’ and what ‘is.’ As I stated, he was hesitant when talking at dinner and, like Rinoa, the reader believed he was having a difficult time. But that wasn’t what it ‘really was,’ which is part of the charm. When he did finally get down on one knee and ask, there was no hesitation, it was all what he felt - I actually like that. So often you see portrayed fumbling over words/emotions like dinner, the beauty of your story was he had no problem in asking her to be his wife… …However, he had a ‘slight’ problem in telling her that she’d no longer be so close to her ice cream. Again, great story, I’m looking forward to your darker one now. I’m glad that you decided to join in and try something a little different. |
Ronin-ai 8/8/12 . chapter 1loved this. Cute, funny, sweet... adore how he turned it all around on her and toyed with her a bit before turning serious and actually asking her. i sat with a stupid grin on my face reading this, prompting my daughter to ask what was so funny. had to explain the whole fan-nerdiness of my secret pasttime. Btw, SHE likes ff8 too. Very well done, I am suitably impressed. |
Jebus Creiss 8/7/12 . chapter 1For some reason, right about where he sprang the 'we're moving' trap, I was assaulted mid-read with the image of the dinner turning into a Squall vs. Sorceress Rinoa combat scene. Wonder why...? Pretty good. Squall and Rinoa - madly in love, but why should that stop them from being cheeky little bastards? |
effect20 8/5/12 . chapter 1The plot was great. The humor was awesome. The ending amazing. For it to have no violence or swearing you did really well. I patiently wait for gdw. Lmao polishing his gunblade. |
Missyluv 8/5/12 . chapter 1Hahahahaha! Squall got Rinoa good in a terribly funny, but terribly sweet way. There's just something about a Squall/Rinoa proposal piece and yours was excellent. |
