abuseI agree that it is great to get in the head of another character. And I never really thought much about Eugenie -- thanks for this! It's quite well done.

abusevery nice! no use torturing herself with such thoughts...
unlike in a lot of fanfic with romantic/sexual overtones, eugenie isn't just a way to make a pairing work...she's a real character, with doubts, desires, infidelities, frustrations, etc. very nice.
i've always loved eugenie's character anyway, and this, i would say, *almost* does her justice. the only thing is (for it's a very well-written and rather poetic piece) that she seems a bit more strong-willed in the book. like, if the count of monte cristo had been a jane austen novel, she would be the bold female protagonist. (although, if eugenie had been in a jane austen novel, she probably would have fallen in love with some man. most likely rich and witty.)

abuseHeh. I always thought Eugenie too scornful towards Valentine and her weakness to love her, but this is really well written. ^_^

abuseArh, when I first read, I had a hard time, figuring just who was Eugenie? But I remembered.. Danglars' daughter! ^_^
All those characters in Count of Monte Christo is hard to keep track of; but the book is rather good X3
I've never thought about Eugenies relations, but now i do. Thanks for teaching me that, and keep on writing ;D

abuseThis is very well-written. It never crossed my mind that Eugenie might have been attracted to Valentine, but why not? She obviously goes for the docile, wilting-flower types. And Shinteetah and Em, have you actually read "The Count of Monte Cristo"? Eugenie is a lesbian! Get over it.

abuseWell-written, but I have to ask -- what in the original novel gave you to think that Eugenie would prefer a lesbian relationship? Do you have any basis for this, or is this just another example of the popular trend to seize established characters or figures and make them gay?

abusehm. I find this a bit offensive, or as far as one can be offended by reading fanfictions. To change a charachters sexual preference...I mean...why? Out of all the things you could possibley pick to write a fanfic on, you just take charachters and turn them gay? I'm not anti-gay or closeminded, I have several close gay friends. But nonetheless, you've crossed the line of creative liberty and cut the ties between the charachters, and dramatically changed their personality. And the fact that, out of all the things that were wonderful about this story, this is the only thing that you manage to take enough interest in to write about. And not just this one- I mean, nearly all of what you've written. Sexual Orientation lies within the realm of personality; you can't change personality. You just can't, and you can't misconstrue the ties between charachters when they're so blatantly explained by the author. Overall, if you want to have gay charachters, thats absoluteley fine with me. Just actually have your own gay charachters- don't just change someone-elses.

abuseThis is wonderful...I like it when authors get inside the head of people other than the main character. It makes the other characters seem more real, even if it wasn't the actual author who did it.

abuse*claps* Woo-hoo! Whee!

That was great! Thanks for describing Valentine as well in the fic! Can you do one with Valentine and Maximillien next?

Sorry, you can tell that I'm a bit obsessed with Valentine and Maximillien..

abuseLovely story!!! I hope you will, perhaps, keep writing with this one, maybe having one of your next chapters be after Eugenie and Louise were found at the hotel in Eugenie's POV? I liked the story and I'm so glad there are more people who have read the Count of Monte Cristo. I thought that that one girl, Margit, was the only one!!! Thanks for the fic!
