I loved the whole secret mission scene. Call of Duty was just made into a kid's game.

Also, I love that part about the whole human "type" thing. IT's pretty awesome. Could I use the idea in my story? (Credit would be given 100%!)

Awesome story I wonder why Ash is being so secretive about who he is and wanting to make a grand reappearance or is it because he doesn't want to get his friends involved with what he's doing (with him foiling team Rocket and the underground league) as they would become targets or want to help putting them in danger but Giovanni already knows he's there so keeping them in the dark doesn't really protect them apart from keeping them from getting involved (which would be a big motivator but wont do much good once Giovanni decides to use them in order to get to Ash).

I wonder how they'll all react when he is revealed I get the feeling Brock will be pissed even tho Ash has been keeping the low profile to protect them, I'm actually surprised Brock hasn't recognised Picachu as he travelled with Ash and Picachu the longest but I guess appearances and behaviour do change over 5 years.

I look forward to the upcoming chapters how will Ash reveal himself, how will everyone his friends and the general public react, what will Lance uncover and what is Team Rocket up to (I also like the inclusion of Jessie, James and now Persian and how there actually friends with Ash now).

Almsot every paragraph you surprise me with a new word. I like the new team rocket.

Yay. This is my interepation of Misty and the Cinnibar Island Gym Fight.

Golduck takes out all but one pokemon when it faints. However the remaining pokemon is so weak she calls out gyarados who justs blows some wind of the pokemon causing it to faint. Am I close?

lol in the first and 3rd chapter you put max maple. On the second, you put man petalburg. Joey from johto...sounds familar. Those rats never fail...

But all in all I just want to say thank you for (un knowingly) teaching me how to write...battle scenes!

This chapter was so worth the wait. Looks like Riley will be showing up pretty soon. Or at least Riley's Lucario. I'm guessing that it's Riley, since Lance got as far as asking the Lucario where "R-" is, and Riley's the only person I could think of.

I don't think Ash's cover will last until the Top 32. If Lance finds Riley, he'll probably figure it out, and then there's the things with Team Rocket chasing Jessie, James, and Persian (almost put Meowth there), and we already know that Giovanni knows Red is Ash.

Anyway, really great job. I'd like to hear a bit more about Ash's Pokémon's backstories in future chapters. We know Athena's and a bit of Soul's, but nothing really about Eve and Spectre.

I'm really enjoying this story so far. It's the typical tournament formula with great additions and twists to make it unique and enjoyable.

Firstly I love the nicknames. It makes the pkmn seem more like the actual, intelligent beings that they are. I noticed that even Lance slipped into calling his Flygon 'Fly' which I think is brilliant.

Athena is a female. Most Lucario's end up being male but by creating Athena as female, you've just created a unique character who adds so much to the story plot wise and personality wise. I generally like Ash's team. You've chosen nothing too dramatic, and they're pretty normal pkmn with great personalities. One question... Does he just have the five or is there a sixth we haven't seen?

I hope Riley is okay. I enjoyed Lance's little section and I can't wait to find out what happens! I also think the person-typing idea with Max being psychic is so cool. Is Ash a mix of types then or is aura just a type in general?

Why is Ash hiding? You might have covered that fact, but as the touranament goes on there seems like less and less reason for it. It only suceeded in making Lance suspicious enough to fly all the way to Sinnoh to go and see Riley (the only other Guardian he probably knows). Which leaves the question... Did Riley train Ash?

Looking forward to the next installment! I didn't really mind the nine chapters building up, as they set the tone and setting very well.

didn't remember that there were so many game elements in i'm pretty leery about that.. but i have played so much Black 2 that it felt only natural. interesting chapter nonetheless.. just had to reread to get into mood.
