Guest 11/21/12 . chapter 1 Please update! |
Teobi 10/18/12 . chapter 7Yay, you updated! You know what, I don't care if you know where this story is going or not, it's just so full of typical GI shenanigans that I could actually picture happening, whether on the island or not, and they're still the same people they are on the island, only now they're on a boat! Ginger is certainly in her element here. She has a totally captive audience (where are they going to go, overboard?) full of men she can flirt with all evening. Loved how she ended up in the Professor's lap and he told her 'boop boop bi doop' weren't proper words! And Gilligan's hiccups! This is the kind of thing that would really happen. He gets the hiccups and they just won't stop, no matter what sensible-but-becoming-increasingly-bizarre remedies the others come up with. (I was about to call them 'castaways', but in this story they're not!) I laughed at this- "B-but Skipper if I stand on my HIC-head then wont all my brains fall out my ears or something?" "I highly doubt it little buddy," said the skipper with a sigh. And when Ginger said, "yeah, they went away just like that", and pushed Gilligan towards the wall, I really could hear Tina Louise's voice in my head. Ginger was always so certain that her ideas would work! I also loved the breath-holding scene and the way Mary Ann kept comforting Gilligan every time the hiccups came back. Awww, the subtle MAGness is so sweet. I love them. You're doing great, tomboy. As for how to scare Gilligan, maybe they could all try different things like scary masks and jumping out on him, but nothing works, and then he ends up scaring himself by seeing himself in a mirror or something like that. Something will come to you! Keep up the good work, I love this story. :D Teebs xx |
TereseLucy384 10/2/12 . chapter 6Any chapter with Gilligan shenanigans is a good chapter ;D Love the concept, Tomboy. Looking forward to the next update. I like the focus on everybody and not just MAG (okay, just once in a while ;) I think my fav moment was Gilligan once again sending Professor into a tizzy by sneaking up on him . . . classic G-Man moment. |
Teobi 10/2/12 . chapter 6 This is a fun story! But you're right about the spelling- if you don't have a spellcheck then I really don't know how to advise you. I don't want you to be put off or anything because the idea is great and there are lots of very funny moments. you have Gilligan being his usual self, running errands all over the ship, being smooched by Ginger, stealing chips and scaring the Professor into scrawling a huge line across his carefully written notes. And asking questions like "What's metamorphosis?" (I kind of lol'ed at that because you spelled 'metamorphosis' perfectly!) I also like that they still have the exact same sleeping arrangements as they do on the island, even though they never became shipwrecked. :) And this was totally Gilligan and made me laugh- "Do you think I'm less interesting than a book Gilligan?" "No Ginger-" Gilligan put on a very thoughfull face. "Mostly because I can't read very well." He would say something just like that! Oh yeah, just one thing, Gilligan has blue eyes...well, they're kinda bluey-green. Trust me, I study them closely because they're so gorgeous :)) Haha, girly and mushy, it's the bane of fanfiction. I don't mind a bit of it, but not bucketloads. Then again, Love Boat had its spectacularly slushy moments. Anyway you're still doing good. Keep it up! |
Sideshow Cellophane 26 9/24/12 . chapter 1Aww! Faved already! My favorite moment: "What's a Republican?" asked Gilligan having a confused look on his face. All scrunched up in consentration. "By gosh Lovey, he doesn't know what a Republican is, this is an emergency. He must be educated at once. Now see here boy a Repub-" -LOLOL! If Gilligan asks what a country club is, Mr. Howell might just have a heart attack! And then Mary-Ann stopping those bullies-in pigtails. You go, girl! Awsome start here. Maybe a few commas and periods here and there. Still good. It's an honor! -Sideshow |
Teobi 9/22/12 . chapter 5The Howell cruiser! I can just see the Skipper's face as he compares this beauty to his humble little Minnow! . Mr Howell led them all up the long ramp up to the beautiful polished deck. To the right was a huge swimming pool with a nice winding water slide and diving board. To the left was a sort of bar and snacks stand and next to it a large stage. There were also white chairs all around the deck some lounge chairs and others with tables. - WOW! Sign me up for the next cruise! (As long as Gilligan's on board, too!) . "Well Skipper she's a beautiful ship is she not." "Yes she's marvelous." Replied the Skipper admiring the bridge. "Good because she needs a captain." "M-m-me?" squeaked out the Skipper his voice going high and shocked. "Yes my lad I think you would be just the man for the job, of course you would have your own crew, I don't expect you to run the ship on your own. Oh and of course you can keep Gilligan as your first mate." - What a magnificent gesture! I can imagine how thrilled the Skipper is, but I hope Mr. Howell realises he's just made the clumsiest sailor in maritime history (otherwise known as Gilligan) the First Mate of the beautiful Howell cruiser. I hope he's insured! I love it! Jobs for everyone. Ginger head of entertainment, Mary Ann head of catering, Professor the tour guide. It's like The Love Boat! (I hope you're not too young to have heard of The Love Boat, it was a huge hit series in the 1970s, Bob Denver even guest starred in a couple of episodes.) Can't wait to read all about their adventures on the high seas! Good work, Tomboy! :D |
Teobi 9/22/12 . chapter 3Awww, Gilligan's accident did make me lol, especially when the peanuts and crackers went flying all over Ginger :) And hooray for Mary Ann for defending him. When MA puts her hands on her hips, look out, she means business! "Now Skipper, you dry yourself off and get back to steering the boat, Professer forget about your silly bird and help Ginger get the peanuts out of her hair, Mr and Mrs Howell stop complaining and help pick up the glasses that aren't smashed and Gilligan you go get a mop to clean up this mess. I will sweep up the broken glass and go and get everyone some more drinks. Now does anyone have a problem with this?" - I can just picture everyone sitting there speechless, with their mouths hanging open, especially Mr. Howell. Mary Ann certainly isn't taking any nonsense! "Just because youre a little clumsy Gilligan, it doesn't make you a bad person." Mary Ann reached out and placed a hand on Gilligan's shoulder. Gilligan lifted his eyes up to meet Mary Ann's smiling ones and Gilligan felt a million times better. - And so a beautiful friendship was born. :) Gilligan's Skinny Mulligan story. LOL! Sirens! I love how they've all bonded and don't want to say goodbye. It's also nice that they had a three hour boat trip without getting shipwrecked! Can't wait to see the adventures (and misadventures) that they get up to in Honolulu! |
Maudlin Mush 9/22/12 . chapter 5This is a delightful set-up! Having them all together. I am sure you'll think up some fun adventures for them. |
Guest 9/18/12 . chapter 1 "Oh dear Thurston, what does one wear to a 3 hour boat tour?" - Everything you own, apparently :) It's an intriguing concept, writing a Gilligan's Island story without the island! 'Gilligan's Harbor'? Saying that, Hawaii is itself an island so it's still kind of an island story. I can quite see Gilligan standing with a sign trying to summon up tourists. Sideshow Celliphane has a story where he and Skipper turn it into a contest! I laughed at his 'cheesy grin' as he wrote Ginger's name down on his list. I know the exact grin you mean! And the bullies! Boo, hiss! - "Hey and look at his stupid hat." "I bet he will never have a girlfriend." "What a loser." - Oh yeah, how much you all want to bet? You're the losers, because here comes his future girlfriend, Mary Ann Summers. just as he's about to start crying. I love how she stands up for him. (And knocks him off his feet at the same time). . "Well I'll see you then Gilligan," said Mary Ann as she realised she'd been staring too long and her cheeks had gone red. - Don't worry Mary Ann, I'd be exactly the same. Gilligan is adorable :) It's so cool to have another MAG writer aboard! Hooray! |
JWood201 9/17/12 . chapter 2Hey there! This is an interesting idea - I'm anxious to see how you work it out without them becoming shipwrecked. I love the MAG aspect already - they're so cute and she's already standing up for him to those rotten teenagers. And he's so excited to give her a tour of the boat! Aww. My one note was going to be to watch your spelling, but I saw your review apologizing about that. Take your time next time and make sure it's exactly how you want it before you upload! We'll forgive you a little hesitation if you want to make it the best it can be. :) Good start. |
tomboy author 9/17/12 . chapter 2Sorry about spelling guys, I was so excited about posting that I forgot about proof reading. |
