I suppose John was just trying to stop cogsworth from being hurt, but I definitely found there was something suspicious about this John, so this is the start to cogsworths journey, awesome :3

Ah. That explains a lot, so that is how Cogsworth got to France kind of funny. I can not wait more and see how he gets the job with the castle see what happens to his wife Mary, and when all the other characters come into play such as Mrs. Potts, Lumiere, and Babette. It will be grate fun to read. I really do love your stories and the way you characterize the people of Beauty and the Beast so up date soon;).

Thanks for updating! If I were John, the recipient of this letter, I would NOT like William very much! He sounds like a pompous jerk who seems to like name-dropping and associating with important people! I can picture John chucking his friend's letter in the fireplace.

I like the formal and historical tone of this! It doesn't really put me much into the setting and characters of BatB, but it does have a style like an old novel, and that is cool and different!

intense, it seems like whoever this john person is is rather mysterious, I.m not entirely sure if he's trustworthy either, seems a bit suspicious actually, suddenly travelling to scotland when cogsworth is in France...

I really do love these Letters to a Loved One series. I re- read them on and off again and I have read that you will be writing a new one and I really look forward to that story. But this story has really gotten my interest, I think the whole plot line behind Cogsworth's path is very interesting! And I told like to read more so please soon because I want to see were he will met the others and move to Franc it will be so funny I think! So I hope to see an update so. :)

Really nice! Well written and just like your other story about Mrs. Charlotte Potts, you are giving this a nice historical novel feel. The sophisticated and formal language makes this different from your typical fan fiction piece. It is too bad he does not have feelings for his bride. Wonder what will happen as far as how he comes to serve in the palace of French royals. :)

Good story, I like the idea of Cogsworth having been married befor it could explane alot about him. Looking forward to reading more:)

As weird as this is to imagine I would believe that Cogsworth would make a great husband though to be arranged into it in such away must be pretty daunting, personally I couldn't imagine it myself but I think you have his reaction down perfectly, loyal to his family so he will go through with it, but worried and nervous for What's to come. Also the Duke of Melford I can't help but think one of these letters is going to be intercepted by the English government... though I could be totally off _
