Nicely done! You really captured both of their personalities well. I loved this line, "Didn't make much difference what you did under a sky like that; couldn't nobody see who cared." It painted such a great picture of loneliness and feelings of insignificance in Wheat. I hope you write more.

Really enjoyed your "voice" as the narrator; the style of writing was appropriate for the story. The characters of Wheat and Kyle are well done. This was verging on sweet but stopped just short, which made it all the more appealing.
