rookanga 5/1/13 . chapter 23Aww. But I'm getting a bad feeling about Coach Garett, like he's molesting Eli or something. Hopefully I'm wrong. Great chapter, as always. |

ftmill16 1/26/13 . chapter 16SO happy to have you back and absolutely thrilled to see a new chapter. I have to say, I am SO eager to find out more about Larissa. Why is she such a bitch? Why is it that she can turn always easy going Jim into an angry mess. I'm also really very curious about why it is that Jim feels he shouldn't be allowing Pam to help him through this. I'm really glad that however it is that it comes about, she IS being able to step up and help anyhow and I hope that Jim will REALLY see that she's doing this because she really wants to and because she has feelings for him, she loves him just like he loves her. I think Pam would be totally crushed if he were to turn her away at a time like this, when she is well aware that he desperately needs somebody to lean on, someone to help him through this and maybe someone he can really talk to and start working through that anger that Larissa brings out in him and the rest of the family. I really hope that we'll get to see Pam with Jim's family more in future chapters. I always adore seeing each of them with the other's fami,y. I like seeing the dynamic, how they all interract together. I can TOTALLY see Pete getting angry about Jim bringing Pam since he is angry and lashing out at the world, unable to be there even for his young son who is himself hurting so deeply. I KNOW that the only reason Jim had Pam with him was NOT as a date but as support for himself because he just didn't feel he could do it alone. I felt it was a great thing he did have her there because she helped poor little Eli through his mother's service. I have to say that I LOVED LOVED the interraction between Pam and Eli and I VERY much hope that we'll see more (lot's more) in the future. My guess, with the name of the story is that with Pete being so wrapped up in his pain and misery, Jim is going to step in and begin playing a very large role in Eli's life. Maybe lots of overnights and such and I have a feeling that Pam is going to be there for all of it. OKAY, truly a great job here and I am now SO excited for more More MORE! Please,PLEASE... update as soon as you can because I am very anxious to see where you're going and as much as I'm hoping for more between the characters I mentioned, I of course mainly want LOTS and LOTS of Jim and Pam. |
Guest 12/10/12 . chapter 14 Keep this going! Love what you have written so far! |
ftmill16 12/2/12 . chapter 13I'm really glad that it's finally getting to this part of the story. I confess that I have a really tough time with just how slow moving this is so I've been trying to just wait until there are several chapters posted so that theres at least a little bit of stuff happening. I'm still so curious to find out just what the deal is with Larissa and I'm hoping we'll maybe get a peak into Jim's relationship with his parents. I'm wondering if we'll see if Jim's parent's and/or others in his family know who Pam is and how accepting they are of her. I hope we get a lot more SOON! I just have a really tough time remembering things and when we get such tiny pieces in each chapter it doesn't tend to make the chapter memorable so when we get updates I end up having to go back at least several chapters, sometimes back to the beginning so I can remember what's going on. (I apologize for that but I've had multiple surgeries on my brain and a stroke so my memory is a real mess. ) Good job, I hope we start seeing more of how the Jim/Elijah and Jim/Pam dynamics start to really play out in the next few chapters. |
Jamfan2000 11/25/12 . chapter 11I am really liking this story! I can't wait for the updates! :) awesome job. |
whaaaaaaat 11/9/12 . chapter 10Yay! Its really good so far update it really soon :) |
ftmill16 11/6/12 . chapter 10Okay slow and steady but we seem to be getting there. Honestly it seems really odd to me that here they are with the calling hours, or visitation as it's called here, and Jim's family hasn't gathered together to help console his brother, his nephew and each other through this. It sounds like in this story Jim very obviously comes from an extrememly disfunctional family that apparently has no closeness whatsoever. I just know that I have lived through many deaths in both my own and my husband's families including one that was horribly unexpected and tragic (our 15 yr old nephew was on the high school's varsity football team. He had just come out of the game and asked the coach how he was doing when he collapsed on the sideline and died in front of everyone in town that had shown up for the game. That included my 13 yr old daughter who we allowed to go to the game with a friend and without and adult with her for the very first time because we were home with our 1 week old baby. It was her very favorite cousin and she adored him. To this day I wonder why that game , of all games, was the one we picked to finally allow that!) Anyhow, in all the deaths, expected, unexpected, tragic or ones you knew they were better off out of their pain and misery, the family always got together and stayed mostly as a unit from the time the death happened until after the funeral at some point. What I find really heartbreaking here is not only that the family just really seems to be fragmented, I mean, it honestly seems to me that this is why Jim is having such a difficult time with all of this. He kinda wants some acknowledgement that the world has shifted, something has gone terribly wrong, and he doesn't seem to be getting it at all. I also think that seeing his family's way of dealing with things which pretty much seems to be to NOT deal with them, to me it kinda explains why Jim was so reluctant to share with Pam and turn to her for support even though he needs it and also why he just doesn't seem to have an interal compass that is really able to tell him the right thing to do here. I mean, WTH is the story with his sister not bothering to show up. Way to show your brother and nephew your love. Anyhow, I started to say, what I find just absolutely heartbreaking is not really so much Pete being off by himself. he's an adult and though I feel for him in that he too was obviously raised in this atmosphere where they seem unable to let others know they need comfort and support but that poor little poor, Eli, who just lost his mom and his father doesn't seem to be trying to hold himself together for his sob's sake at all. Dad is lost in his own grief and everyone seems to have sort of abandoned to poor boy whose world has just fallen apart. Por guy. Thankfully now Jim has set eyes on him and I have a feeling, knowing Jim, that Uncle Jim is going to become everything to him. Jim will support Eli and I think it's coming soon, seems to be building to Pam being there to help and support Jim I CAN'T WAIT for that to happen! Good job and though I don't review every chapter, I hope you'll forgive me for that. I'm not well and often just don't really feel up to typing, but I do try to say something every few chapters. I want you to know that I am reading! Keep it up, I'm very anxious for the next chapter! |
