redrachxo 1/9/13 . chapter 20It's not often that I read something and have to go away from my laptop for a while just to take it in but I definitely had that with this chapter. It was beautiful. Very emotional, definitely got me feeling incredibly sad for Vlad and Erin, I loved how much thought and detail you put into this including the description of the telephone call (her parents' reactions were believeable and non-idealistic) and the school memorial. Looking forward to starting Recuperation. xo |
redrachxo 1/5/13 . chapter 19Argh! So dramatic, literally on the edge of my seat reading this, can't help feeling utterly outraged on Erin's behalf at the way she has been treated by the legal process, I think you captured a lot of the problems and perils of the criminal court/death penalty. Really fabulously written- especially the action sequences, they were very easy to follow and the descriptions worked perfectly. xo |
redrachxo 1/5/13 . chapter 16Very intense chapter. You really captured the horror and drama of the court scene with Vlad's reaction, it was so believable that he would fall apart like that and even the reactions of Ingrid and Bertrand were just gut-wrenching. Beautifully written! And thank you of course for the lovely shout out : ) xo |
redrachxo 1/5/13 . chapter 15Wow- wasn't expecting that. No wonder the poor girl was terrified and how barbaric! I think Bertrand's reaction summarises it beautifully- I'm sure he has seen some terrible times but even he seems horrified by what's taking place. xo |
redrachxo 1/5/13 . chapter 13Oooh that is a sucker punch ending. I can't help but feel for both of them. Vlad for the way he's meant to be so powerful as the Chosen One but in this situation he is relatively helpless to protect the girl he loves and he keeps (understandbly) acting like a teenage brat as a consequence. Erin- clearly this trial is a harrowing experience and in a way it all leads back to her relationship with Vlad and perhaps seeing him acting like such a vampire, perhaps placing her in further jeopardy, is the last straw. xo |
redrachxo 1/5/13 . chapter 12Very clever twisting of the facts by the prosecution, loves how he uses everything to build a case against her and the quickfire way he does it, questioning her and mulddling her with assertions and opinions. xo |
redrachxo 1/5/13 . chapter 11Absolutely loving these court scenes. Very gripping and believable. xo |
redrachxo 1/5/13 . chapter 8You built up such an omnious atmosphere to this chapter, I was on the edge of the my seat being like eeer Vlad- realise, realise, REALISE! Thank goodness, he did! It's very well done- you can see both Vlad and Erin's perspective in this - how Vlad is misinterpreting her actions and how frightened Erin must have been especially after events in Redemption. Particularly loved the description of the candle. xo |
redrachxo 1/4/13 . chapter 7Got such a bad feeling about Ingrid's advice... : ( xo |
redrachxo 1/4/13 . chapter 6I really love how you describe Erin and Vlad's relationship, the attraction, the confusion, the attempts to understand each other are so realistic, they make such a believable couple. xo |
redrachxo 1/4/13 . chapter 5Fantastic chapter. The letter from Erin's parents struck a fine balance - it seems like she had a golden children with wonderful parents who cared deeply for her, who are shocked and dismayed at how her life has turned out and rightly so- living with supposedly most evil vampire in the world. But you have given wonderful hints of darkness lurking between the surface.. I love all the details in this chapter. The type of music Erin listens to (it makes her so much more alive and relatable as a character even if I'm not a Beatles fan myself), the way you described the letter 'black fronds' gorgeous! And the solicitor's messy office was perfect. xo |
redrachxo 1/3/13 . chapter 2Oh Wolfie! So funny and adorable in this! Also loved the reactions of the Count and Bertrand - draining the slayers- opps! Great balancing of misery and humour in this. xo |
