I can’t help but be intrigued by your title and by this promising start. Your rendering of Steele, for all sorts of reasons, as a man quite deliberately hard to pin down is perfect. I’d quote the relevant passage in full but I don’t want to spoil anyone’s pleasure of finding it on their own.

An FBI profiler couldn’t have described him more accurately! I especially like how you arrive at that point from Steele’s masculine, physical side: as inseparable a part of his make-up as the more purely mental, in mapping his behavior. That’s a road not taken in fanfic as much as it should be. Greatly looking forward to more of the story and more of your writing.
