I really liked this story. It definitely showed their family dynamics which is something that's not really written about.

I liked this, really enjoy your writing. Loved your portrayal of C.C., it seems very fitting to me and the explanation of her love for Max and getting over it was perfect. But the complete N/CC shipper in me just also wonders if she truly does love Niles now or if she just settled with him in the 's quite sad but then again I guess it's really realistic.

In one way this chapter is very sweet, but on the other way is very sad. Is CC really love Niles?

This just about made me cry, the emotions are so close to the surface and so cutting. Really gorgeous writing, and I like that you don't explain away CC's longlasting obsession with Maxwell. I'm not sure how do deal with it in my writing so I just ignore it, but acknowledging that she was in love with him and suffered over his rejection(s) is pretty perfect. Love CC's relationship with her daughter, and Niles's resentment of her drinking.
