A beautifully, well written and thought provoking piece. I'm impressed by your weaving of a religious concept into this story. Spiritual stories are a rarity but they work so well in this fandom when written with grace just as you have done.
As always Mike and Steve are canon. Your knowledge of the characters and their reactions to different situations are exactly how I picture it all to be as if you were writing the episodes.
