I think writing this kind of oneshot is quite tricky; it's difficult to pull off that sense of impact and complexity in such a short piece, but I think you've done well here.

Your description of Samus' gravely injured form reminds me of a certain image I came across once on DeviantArt, though I can't for the life of me remember it clearly. It was a very stark and visceral picture, and this oneshot carries a similar atmosphere to it.
