Slash is alright, but I definitely see Jay and Nick as more of a bromance than an actual romance. Having it be a romance taints their relationship instead of Nick just really trying to help. The good thing about this piece is it was kept so in line with the book, despite some obvious statements on Nick's one-sided feelings, that I can still picture this nice summary and reflection as it would be in canon. Good work.
