| Kathryn Merlin 2/26/13 . chapter 9
Hahahaha that was great.
| Kathryn Merlin 2/26/13 . chapter 8
Really interesting point about the whole team player thing. I never though about it that way before in relation to Donna.
| Troub95 11/20/12 . chapter 11
I really enjoyed this fic. I didn't mind one bit that it didn't follow the show. You did an amazing job!
| itskindafuntodotheimpossible 11/18/12 . chapter 11
Incredible! I was sad that Leo had died but love how you changed transition to include Donna (because I felt we didn't really get to see her there in the show) and then the change from her being Deputy CoS to FLOTUS CoS. Also I love the senior staff positions - Danny as Press Secretary would be incredible.
| Veridissima 11/13/12 . chapter 11
Can'te believe you also killed Leo
Would love to see sequel of this
| sassie69 11/12/12 . chapter 11
Wonderful, I love it that she does not take the job and would rather be with him in other ways. Also loving the parts with Leo appearing to them after he died.
| alix33 11/12/12 . chapter 10
So Donna had that weird visitation (I honestly do not know what else to call it now) with Leo's ghost?
| alix33 11/12/12 . chapter 9
BUSTED, Josh (and is Josh going to be pissed-off, if he ever finds out, that is, that it was Leo that did it)!
| alix33 11/12/12 . chapter 8
Just a quick point on this bit from chapter 7 "Because that's what you've got to do in this game; you've got to be a team player, you've got to be able to roll with the punches and get up and keep going and not think about the bruises or the mud on your face. Because you're not doing it for yourself,": I forgot to write it in my original review for chapter 7, but the instant I read that bit, I realised it explained basically two years of my life when my job performance (the one year I still had one job and the other one, a couple of years later, a brand new) was not in the best place it apparently could have been and my bosses let me know it in the worst way.
| alix33 11/11/12 . chapter 7
"So you can order a salad and leave some and your date won't think you eat too much." "Josh! I was supposed to be going to a business lunch. It's important that I make a good impression." "On three women from the D.A.R." "They'd all be doing it too." For a moment she sees a flash of his dimples, but then, inexplicably, he stops smiling and buries his head in his menu again." - Hehehe. I am such a total and utter pig that I NEVER leave anything on my plate if I am eating out and the food is really yummy.
"I didn't go into that first campaign thinking, what job will I get at the end of this, how will I be treated, what will this do for my career? I've never gone into any campaign like that. If that's what I'd cared about, I'd have stayed with Hoynes; he was the front-runner, the guy with the money, the obvious choice." - EW! at even just the thought of John Hoynes.
| alix33 11/11/12 . chapter 6
"Once in a while somebody asked me what I thought about something, and I got to say, and most of the time they ignored it, but one day the Senator's Chief of Staff said he thought something I'd said was a good point. I'll never forget the thrill; Sam and I went out for drinks that night on the strength of it and got thoroughly plastered." - Those sounds like fun, both their reaction to young Josh's suggestion and the getting plastered with Sam bit.
| alix33 11/11/12 . chapter 4
"He twitches and groans and thrashes around. Like someone having a schizophrenic episode; I told him he'd better not fall asleep when any press were around, they'd think Santos had a nutcase running things for him." "That's not too far off the truth, is it?" Mandy is laughing now. "Yeah. God help us when he's Chief of Staff." - If Josh is averse to hitting women, I hereby volunteer to pop into this fic and do it in utter anger on his behalf after reading this interchange between what I assume is Mandy and Lou.
| alix33 11/11/12 . chapter 3
"then burrows her feet into the pillows in the corner and rubs them against the armrest, trying to warm them" - For the warming her feet bit: That is why one needs to always have a spare throw over the back or even the front of one's couch. OK, the knitted afghan I just read about (especially if Donna's gran and her knitted it together. My gran taught me to crochet, but we never got to the collaborating on projects stage) works too.
| alix33 11/11/12 . chapter 2
Josh's mind not making him think of burning wood and by extension his dead big sister Joanie even while dreaming there made me feel so sad for him.
| lcf328 11/10/12 . chapter 7
Enjoying rereading this one - it had been awhile! I agree with sassie69...hated Mandy hitting Josh (as I'm sure you could have guessed), both on the show and in your description of it here. It's too bad that even Sorkin fell into the trap of 'if a woman hits a male love interest (or former love interest), it's funny and he obviously deserved it.'
