I think that you should have obe boy and two girls and only one of them is a mermaid. Yellow and purple are good both gender colors

I think the room color should be turquois or at least have ocean scenery (like Cleo's room in the show) implemented in it. The furniture should either be a light green or a sandy color to go with the color of the room. Every baby has a stuffed animal when its first born, so I think the babies (only if you make them identical triplets) should have different colored sock monkeys kind of like the powerpuff girls. And the colors that you choose for the monkeys should go along with the rest of babies stuff.
