JoyRose10 5/10/13 . chapter 24This was delightful! If Sherlock was a bit emotional, well he certainly had cause. Thank you! |
CosmicEssence 4/22/13 . chapter 24Aside from all the medical knowledge, which i'm pretty terrible at though fortunately your desriptions never got so detailed as to make me feel squeamish (another hospital/doctor problem of mine), this was perfect in terms of h/c, friendship and close bonded friendship at that, guilt and emotions in general really. Sherlock was a pleasure to read, especially his scenes with Mycroft, his deductions regarding the nurses and his heart (that scene really got me going), his confession and breakdown and plant-apology and oh yes the times when he realised his experiments were the cause of John's illness were absolute favs! Course John was excellent too, very believable, ensuring Sherlock stayed by him and not completely believing that it wasnt some experimental study (perfectly underestandable really lol) as well of course that he just got a little upset instead of angry and well his general reactions and banter...but Sherlock stood out more in this one I think. Good place to end it too. Thanks for posting this little treasure XD |
Tinys-mom 3/29/13 . chapter 24What a wonderful story! Ok, yes it's sad that John was sick, but, first off, you had a very interesting illness, and a very credible way for it to happen, and Sherlock's reactions were so good! I know how he felt about not wanting to admit he might have caused it, but his being able to tell John, and take care of John so well was wonderful. Really enjoyed it and am going to see what else you've got up! Thanks for sharing it with us! |
Ennui Enigma 3/19/13 . chapter 24And so we have come to the end of a very long ordeal of gut-wrenching proportions. (Nice title!) Well done. The writing has a very authentic ring to it. Plenty of details on the medical side :-) The dialogue b/t John and Sherlock is consistent with the overall tone of this epic. Some bits of humour that lighten the mood and give the reader a chance to smile in spite of the tragic circumstances at times. Overall, I'd say this piece, despite its topic of dire illness and guilt and fear, has a positive flavour. Hope. Friendship. Comfort. Learning through adversity. Forgiveness. Loyalty. All of these run as silver threads throughout the chapters - tying things together and leaving the reader with a warm 'feel good' sentiment at the end. Aw! Hugs to Sherlock and John as they prepare for their next adventure :-) |
Ennui Enigma 3/18/13 . chapter 23The beginnings, the middle, the ending is in sight. Nice bit of writing. I assume a nice bit of avmedical case study too on John :-) |
Ennui Enigma 3/18/13 . chapter 22rather fitting for John to wake up at the moment of Sherlock's confession :-p |
Ennui Enigma 3/18/13 . chapter 21Slow, slow recovery... you are certainly not making it easy on the two :-) |
Ennui Enigma 3/18/13 . chapter 20Aw! cute scene at the end of this chapter :) |
Ennui Enigma 3/18/13 . chapter 19phlegm coming up that tube. He really tried very hard not to listen, as the sound was strangely revolting to him, - strangely revolting? LOL! just reading the word 'phlegm' is gross :-p very realistic scenes. emotions seem quite true to RL. Nicely conveyed in this chapter. |
Ennui Enigma 3/18/13 . chapter 18Touch wasn't exactly a language in which Sherlock was fluent; - an apt observation :) a glimmer of hope at end of chapter. the mood of the piece at the end is nicely reinforced with Sherlock's hunger and cake. |
Ennui Enigma 3/18/13 . chapter 17Excellent title for this chapter. Rather fitting. Intubation for John. Fear and anxiety for Sherlock. Mycroft does seem to be the bright point here |
Ennui Enigma 3/18/13 . chapter 16"I can't fix you, John. All I can do is promise to stay with you" ah...wise words. if only they were spoken more often :) |
Ennui Enigma 3/18/13 . chapter 15"swam slowly up to consciousness" - nice phrase... bookends with "slid back into sleep" cute reference to series with the violin playing and John being able to sleep through anything Also, enjoyed the reference to Dr Who - clever :) |
Ennui Enigma 3/18/13 . chapter 14Cute chapter. Very docterly too :) Some very sweet interactions b/t John and Sherlock. Nicely brought out the human side of the detective offending bacteria had long been banished - like this line :) You do have your moments of humanity, don't you," said John quietly - perfect. captures the essence well. |
Ennui Enigma 3/18/13 . chapter 13pain blossomed forth - nice descriptor! Cute banter at the end - definitely a blessing to John. kudos to sherlock :-) |
