I'm insanely picky when it comes to fanfiction, especially with pairings that aren't necessarily canon. (Phoenix and Miles seem to be a bit of an exception, though. Just... gay lawyers, man.) A lot of fanfictions sort of rush the whole process, in my opinion. But I think the way you've written these two falling in love is quite believable. I really like the fact that you haven't written either of them doing a 'gay? there's absolutely no way I'm gay no that's weird.' Instead of 'oh no I've fallen in love with a man who used to be my best friend and my rival, etc', this story is more 'Hey, I think I could want this person in my life forever'. And that's really great. :'D

I guess you probably won't really have sex scenes in this though, right - I just noticed you rated the story 'T' - which will actually be a bit of a shame since the sex when it comes would be so so incredibly hot. IN any case, whatever you decide to do I'm sure it will come out great.

I hope you keep on with the dramatic impulsiveness too (like the almost-kiss in the pool). Because if you run along the same vein when they finally do kiss it will be absolute fireworks (and then following on to sex.. omfg..). Especially if it occurs amid high emotion/heated words. Mmmm...

This rewrite is so so SO much hotter then anything I remember. In FACT, it's probably the hottest scene I've ever read phoenix/miles (and I have read A LOT). Edgeworth's thoughts, the descriptions - I was drooling over that image of phoenix in his board-shorts and naked chest right alongside Edgey.. and the TENSION and almost-kiss at the end...

arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh..

You just KNOW it's going to happen - you *know* that something will occur to prevent the kiss - you know it the moment the tension starts and Edgey wants it so badly and then.. and then.. but you're thinking PLEASEEEEEE *kiss* because it's all just so PERFECT in that moment.. and then.. the magical moment breaks and so does your heart and yet it's *perfect*. Absolutely 100% perfect.

your characters are unbeatable-y beautiful; Your characters, your writing, your emotion, your phrasing - everything is *just so*.

Yes, I read this story as it was originally - but what you're recreated of it is superb.

And somehow after all that I've said, I have *no* words to say..

Such a beautiful way to phrase his thoughts! In fact, I am LOVING the way you're writing both men here - they're really nicely in-character and since it's from Edgey's POV it gives you this wonderful insight into the softer, hidden [adorably insecure!] side of the rather aloof man that many of us suspect is buried under there.

I think I read this story when you originally wrote it - before rewriting - because parts of it seem somewhat familiar (and the subject of Feenie attempting to teach Edgey how to get a girl), but I wanted to say to please not feel discouraged if not as many people review as they did originally (it's not from lack of fans of your work!) - give it some time and it will happen; especially with Phoenix Wright 5 set to come out in the not-too-distant future! Then there will be a fresh onslaught of fans eager to get a fanfiction fix of their favorite pairing and a gorgeous chaptered story like yours will draw them. You'll get more reviews then for sure! :D

Oh and did you notice Phoenix's outfit for PW5? he has a swanky blue vest under his suit! Only Edgey could have encouraged/inspired that type of sophisticated change in him [Capcom & their subtle fanservice!]; If I was the type, I would totally squeal uncontrollably and flail about right now!
