quite honestly, "Q" is a title like "M". It stands for "Quartermaster", I.e. only the head of Q branch can officially use it.

Also, the only member of Q branch that interacts with the double-ohs is the head: missions directly from M, gear directly from Q.

Finally, you've only ever seen the Daniel Craigs. Or you'd know that Q1 (the one you put in pairing) is portrayed by Desmond Llewelyn ( www. imdb name/ nm0005155/)

I've quite enjoyed this; it was very interesting to see a different backstory than what I would usually expect to see.

I do have one small issue to point out in this chapter - at some times when Q was clearly yellng, you used full stops where exclamation marks should have been instead. Not the worst thing, but it makes it harder to tell whether someone's yelling or not.
