Reviews for Let Her Cry
Goldleaf83 6/7/13 . chapter 1
Oh, this captures Hawkeye perfectly: his voice is right on (I can really hear that rant!), and his movements are right (that orangutan jump - I know *just* what you mean!). Even better, you show a believable post-war psychology for him: still a great surgeon, acutely aware of what he can do (and has done), scarred by his war experiences, still healing from them. You evoke the long-term consequences of what happens to him in the final episode just beautifully in the last few lines: powerfully and economically, not a wasted word in there. A terrific piece!

Awww;-) I remember holding my first one way back when. Very nicely done!
ReKoJ 2/14/13 . chapter 1
That was cute.
Frodo's sister 1/12/13 . chapter 1
Good story. I agree with Hawkeye. New born babies need to cry. It cleans their lungs.
Hummingbird2 1/9/13 . chapter 1
My goodness, that was absolutely wonderful, thank you!

:) You did well. I think his daughter's mother will be happy to have someone who will get up and listen to the crying for her. I just wish I knew who her mother was... ;)

for a moment there, I thought he was hallucinating. Glad to see he wasn't. Happy ending!

I wanna cry now, too! Great writing.
T Goerlitz 12/28/12 . chapter 1
I like, no, I LOVE this story because it's just about Hawkeye. We don't know who his wife is, it adds a little mystery. Thank you for letting me be a witness to his very first interaction with his daughter. BRAVO!
ImaLateBloomer 12/27/12 . chapter 1

Awww...This was so sweet! :) You did a great job of writing Hawkeye's character; I can visualize him acting exactly as you described. Super work! :)

I finished watching the whole series for the first time too...back in July. But I still recall that last epi and yes I can understand where he's coming from. War memories do pop up in unexpected places...
Sgt. Moffitt 12/25/12 . chapter 1
Ah, that final episode. I watched it when it was first broadcast thirty years ago, all two and a half hours of it, and boy did I cry! Especially the scene where Hawkeye finally realizes what the peasant woman on the bus did to her child to save everyone on board. No wonder that his own child crying would bring back such intense memories.
ColHogan 12/25/12 . chapter 1
I loved MASH and especially Hawkeye. He was so mischievous. I loved all the characters but Hawkeye was always my favorite. I can see him acting like this with his own child after birth after what he had been through in Korea. And he would want to be present when his child was born despite performing surgery.
