I'm surprised, given their closeness, that Nick was willing to leave the ER/waiting room, in Echoes when Cody was shot.

They're so inseparable. Like twins who can't abide to be apart (even though they aren't related and are several years apart in age).

This is just what you'd expect - once they get over the anger and/or fear from the incident that caused this.
