What a treat to read this *feel good* story. To see a more personal softer side of Cowley, that lurks just beneath the tough outer exterior of this magnificent Scotsman!

Not sure Cowley would have let them have a month off either, particularly since Macklin had been dragging them to the peak of fitness. It was lovely to have a story from Cowley's POV - nostalgic, thoughtful, caring. I think the Lads know how much 'Father' cares for them underneath. Perhaps a story about how Cowley's best men spend their time 'wisely'?

Very pleasing. I have a picture of the three of them playing football, so it was easy to visualize this. I'm not sure that Cowley would have been that generous with leave time, but it was a pleasing thought, nevrtheless, And stimulated the imagination as to what Bodie and Doyle would do with their break.
