This is marvelous, as per usual. I really like the AU setting; it's a nice change of scene. The premise is great too. I could see this turning into a full fledged story someday.

That was EXTREMELY well written! I loved it! :)

I thought it was just marvelous :) the only thing I could see from the get-go was the change in point of view. There were a few times where the POV would change from third person to first. ex. would be: "But she finds myself backing away those two steps". the 'she' implies that the character is not talking about his/herself. But the 'myself' shows that the reader is now viewing the story through a characters eyes. (you probably know this already, I just wanted to sound knowledgeable :) other than that, beautiful and original concept :) LOVE IT !
