This is one of my favorite things! A one-shot that goes on for 7 chapters! And I don't see the awful "Complete" word in the title, so I do hope you'll go on. Yes! long-live denial (I think this whole "thing that everyone thinks" is all a complicated plot and it is just intended to surprise us at the season 4 premier with what all of us deny-ers are hoping). Anyway, it was very interesting to "meet" Shrimpie in the finale, when I already knew of him from this story. This is a much better ending than the s3 finale. More, please!

I loved this story. My favourite part in the whole story was Mary putting baby Reggie onto Matthew's chest and then watching the two of them together and then the baby grabbing onto his daddy's pyjamas. Ahh who am I kidding, I loved the whole lot.

I had tears in my eyes several times, I admit - especially the scene with the future earl entering Downton among the staff. Yes, this is a lovely alternate to the reality of JF; we can imagine, and even dramatize happiness for M&M, even if JF cannot. Thank you for a lovely story!

I had tears in my eyes as I read this - I loved the passage where you acknowledged the existing CS - the idea that something as simple as changing the time of the birth could change everything. :) Really beautifully done. Your dialogue was marvelous - I was particularly touched by how happy Tom was for M/M. Using Matthew's father's journal was so sweet, and a perfect way to name the baby. I didn't think I could handle a happy CS AU, but this last chapter was handled with so much care and sensitivity, it really was a pleasure to read. :D Keep writing! :)

I love the new family in bed spending quality time in bed. Matthew's thoughts that Mary knows what he wants/needs before he does. Mary's fierce love is beautiful.
Poor Matthew and his bad back but your right he got to play the hero and he now gets all of Mary's attention with their baby boy. Reggie is the perfect name for their son.
I seriously loved the fluff but what really got me was Mary thinking to heck with everything else - all that matters is Matthew and their son. Amen. That is the real Mary!
