I love the modern, British take on the Jane story. Never heard him called a Cheeky Bugger before. :)
Lots of good action, good details about the jungle, can really picture it.

I'm guessing you are making both girls in their teens, like 15-17? That does make me wonder how old our favorite jungle man will be. I can't wait for the next chapter. :)

Note: Your story also makes me think of Andy Briggs' new Tarzan series, a modern reboot where the main characters are teenagers. It is a little more faithful to the original stories by Edgar Rice Burroughs, i.e. Tarzan has black hair and grey eyes instead of brown dreads and green eyes. Jane is pretty tough, though! She doesn't faint or anything like that. If you want to draw inspiration from that or you are just interested, the first one is called The Greystoke Warrior (you can take a peek at it on Amazon and/or look at the official website: andybriggs . co . uk/ Home/ Home .html [make sure you remove the spaces]). I recommend you check it out; it is a fun series.
