Absolutely sweet ending. :-) Adored it.
UKReader 5/18/13 . chapter 18
Oh my, where to start! The whole thing is adorable (apart from the Orc's at the end of course). Grrrrrr major cliffie. I read your chapter early doors and was too blown away to review straight away. I thought I'd come back to it when I can review more clearly. However, that's proved impossible due to the high and gorgeousness of the fluff factor. So here is yet another rambling but nonetheless heart felt review ;o)

First, loved the title of this chapter. Hmmmm.

Geir is a poppet. Nannulf is a sweet bouncy little tigger and adorbs.

Loved the story with Gilmi. Nice to have him included - and Thorin's reaction was glorious. "Gimli, son of Gloin? Handsome and regal? You must be joking." Thorin spluttered.. I think Thorin was expecting a story filled with his own majestic escapades. Have I got it wrong, or were you slightly inspired by "Am met with a round of hearty applause. Obviously." etc? I doff my cap to you either way milady.

And of course the whole by the fire bit. Just wonderful. Can't praise highly enough. The whole scene was very gently and subtly done - both in terms of the dialogue, characterisations and the physical contact. Rin's trust in Thorin in being able to open up to him (whether she meant to open up that much or not), going with her heart and sitting with him and then falling asleep was lovely. Another example of Rin finding herself outside of her prison.

Oh, and Thorin... Where to start. Again with the opening up. Hand holding. Hand holding. (shouts) HAND. HOLDING. (thud)...

You've written that scene in such a way that I for one don't know whether the hand holding is the start of a deeper friendship or the tentative beginnings of love. Either way, I loved it. Can you tell? I like the gentle pace of this too.

Keep up the amazing work Gwyn. xxx

And here's to your next century of reviews. x

Great chapter!Another refreshing chapter!I love the Gimli was nice of you to bring some of the old folk back into the another side of originality to the story.I also love the scene between Thorin and was almost like a 'pda' ,i almost didnt like the last part.I hope no one got hurt in the next chapter.I dont want the children to get hurt by the pack of Orcs.:(

Another Fabulous Chapter - thanks SOOO much! I loved the whole thing the friendships/relationships being formed. The Gimli-story piece was just wonderful (a pity you didn't tell us the story as well - maybe another time haha) Dare say a real "spark" in the Thorin/Rin relationship... no mushy/girlie-girlie crap - just a little heart flutter... uhhhh! and no Rorik to be seen or heard of (so nice) and just when you feel safe and warm and comfortable for a split second OMG you do it again - aarrrhhhh! Bloody Orcs!
Love your "stuff" and looking forward to your surprise next week. You always have the best surprises ;) Looking forward to celebrating your 200th plus x

I've been reading this chapter with that song in my head. I loveeee it . Yay! As I already said, I loved this chapter so much that I didn't know where to start from! I've been sitting here staring at the screen for God knows how long xD In general and as you've been said, it is exceptionally well written! You know I'm not a native speaker, so sometimes this kind of things go unnoticed to me, but this time I can totally tell that the prose was fantastic, simple yet beautiful. I could totally imagine everything you were describing, it was all very visual...and fantastic!

Geir is like one of those grandpas that seem to be bothered by their grandchildren but they love every minute of it. I like him very much. I think it is quite clever what you do with the names, giving a character a name that goes with their more prominent personality trait. And also, Mora is a beautiful name.

Nannulf is too good to be true; in this chapter I imagined him like a puppy going around playing and messing -in a good way- with everything. When the time comes and the dwarves have to go their own way, I bet he is going to be the most devastated; but I think he deserves this times of joy and I certainly love the effect he has on Thorin.

Now, I could spend hours talking about the last part of the chapter, but I'll try to refrain myself. For starters, I bet Thorin was thinkin that Rín was going to tell his story;in fact I almost can imagine him hoping for her to tell his story just to know how she sees him. But Gimli! You almost made spit my tea! (note: not drinking while reading one of your chapters) Poor Gimli was not the most gracious of them dwarves, but I think is one of the most brilliantly characters written in this saga. For he was the Friend of the Elves and he loved Lady Galadriel with all his hear and that's why he was granted a pass to the Undying Lands. He was the best of dwarves. (Thorin, you're still my favourite :P)

Thorin Rín Bonfire me dying on the ground curled in a ball of feelings. I loves every bit of it. Here you show us not only that Thorin has changed his attitude towards Rín in such a way that he is able to open up to this extent, but also the inner fears of Rín, and how she also trusts Thorin to the extent of adressing her "flaw" . It's interesting that you mentioned the purpose of Thorin being alive once again, because we really don't know what or who is behind it (we know that the Arkenstone was the catalyst but...is there anything else? I don't know what to think when it comes to your schemings! xD). But I find even more interesting that he somehow seems to regret being alive."I can think of several who would have deserved such a fate more than I." Maybe it is just me but from my point of view he would swap places with any of his nephews or old friends without a second thought.

But before that we had: "But who would want a dwarf-woman without a beautiful beard? Even as a child I was looked down upon." "I-" Hello? Is this a megaforshadowing? Because if this same sentence would have been place some chapters later, I truly believe that Thorin would have said "I do." Anyway, I'm over the moon because Rín tells him once again that he is not alone and for the first time he seems to believe her. Holding hands. Really. HOLDING HANDS? D'you want to kill him? Because my heart skipped a beat when Thorin grabbed her hand, so slowly and so carefully... And the fact that, as I said before, you wrote all the chapter so well and in such a visual way didn't help at all. (BUT I LOVED IT. And also, you just don't fall asleep on someone if you don't trust them. There, Thorin, note woman trusts you so much that she is able to fall asleep by your side because she knows you'll protect her.) Aaanyway,at least you gave them a night in peace before the storm breaks again.

""Perhaps," he began, "A person should be judged and loved, for the goodness of their heart rather than the beauty of their beard." is my favourite part of the fic so far. You are making me cry.

Anyway, I'm sorry for this monstrous review, but you know? You must be doing something right when one of the best parts of my Saturdays is actually reading and reviewing you ;)

See you next week!

Thank you for this chapter. Maybe I should change my penname to StuckRecord, since I'm always saying the same thing. But I just loved it. Especially the conversation between Thorin and Rín was very well done. And I am really liking Nannulf more and more with each chapter. Thank you so much for writing and sharing!
L.C.Doyle 5/17/13 . chapter 17
Excellent chapter - what's with the extra tent? Will our Dwarves be trapped by these Easterlings? (sorry but I still don't trust them... nor Rorik... he's such a snake - no offence to any Herpetologists out there) Really enjoyed Rorik's little tale, though am suspicious, and like Thorin feel there are a few too many holes.
Looking forward to your chapter tonight! Great work CefflyGwyn

I signed in this time XP
Another excellent chapter! Good to find out what Rorik has been up to to get them out of Erebor, although my reader senses are tingling and from me there is more to that story *watching you Rorik!*
I will definitely check out the fanfics you recommend! They sound intriguing :)
Also! You're almost at 200 reviews! Get ready to pull out the party poppers and barrels of ale to celebrate! :D
Keep up the amazing work!

Typical Thorin. . Anyway, I love how Rorik tell his story. He demanded respect from them. Thats a good thing. Hah! Rin slowly got to Thorin. I love what you did with the Easterling storyline. Not all of them are evil. Thats nice. Some too had their fair share of loss. btw, when is the wizard gonna come in the story?:'( Its just doesnt feel right without a 'Gandalf' to nurture the storyline. Haha. Alright, follow your own pace. Hope to get a peek of them. Until next time

So sorry, my email still keeps sending things to spam, grrrrrr...
Love Thorin's growing humility, nice work.
Suheyla 5/13/13 . chapter 17
Yeah, I didn't get any notifications over the weekend, so annoying!

I loved the end! Yes, Rorik, you should be afraid of Thorin!
Hmm, Rorik is definitely not telling everything, I don't trust him and he seems like he's only concerned for himself.

I'll check out the stories you listed, I'm already reading the Misadventures of a Dwarven Woman and love it! I should write something myself one of these days.
DeadheadDaisy 5/13/13 . chapter 17
Another awesome chapter, chapter and so sweet, I love the growing bond between Rin and Thorin and Thorin and Nannulf!
I really don't know how to feel about Rorik, though I know I don't trust him, him he's not telling the whole story!
Thank you for the reading suggestions, I'll go take a look! :)
kaia 5/11/13 . chapter 17
if rorik dies then he had it coming from the start. the way he acts towards rin though... it's like he has an underlying intention. it's as if he's jealous of the quick closeness between rin and thorin... somehow it kind of makes me think that somewhere along the line he wants her as his wife, but cannot do so with thorin around and being so very protective of her.

also please tell me that asa gets what coming to her, she's as bad rorik himself BUT being a female makes her attitude worse. female's going into a rage are probably more dangerous than males
