Yes, too many times I read about a fluffy Snape - not only in parodies or with a special character like Hermione for a love story. Sometimes it is nice, and I think many readers want such stories, ok, perhaps the real Snape is another man. Too many love stories or fiction want Snape as seen in the movie. You can say that Rowling accepts Alan Rickman in the movie, so he's good. He's a wonderful actor with a lovely voice, but I think that only trait of Snape in his performance is the voice, the other... is a compromise between the page and the desires of mums who will bring children in the cinema. So let's show them a handsome actor, while children watch younger characters! with this, I'll don't cry if one day would find a man like him all naked in my bed...

I love masks in literature! They can create images for people and of people, and often hide the people behind them, even from themselves sometimes...

I liked the ending statement, "It makes no difference whether or not I wear the mask…it is always there, isn't it?" It rings quite true. And the details on the door to his chamber and vials were very nice touches. I remember reading some of your writing on Wolfie's Den, I believe, and being quite impressed.

Wow - a very powerful fic. A clear insight into Snape's character that has left me feeling rather sad. And I love your line 'Validating my inherent distrust of silly wand waving' - so precise, so cutting, so Snapeish!

Touching... very angsty. I have to say, I was really captured by the part where he was envisioning 'Miss Granger' trying to read three books at once... that would be so like her.

I had been reading another fanfic (SS/HG - go figure) the other day and after finishing one of its chapters I found that I was somehow unsatisfied with the way they portrayed Severus. Not that he was too sweet. He seemed to be unrealistically mean, and while I know our Potions Master has something of a temper(Harry would probably comment on my choice of words there), I felt that there is a certain way he displays that. More.... sophisticated and not so immature, I suppose. And then I realised I'm too used to reading *your* fics and your absolutely *wonderful* portrayal of Severus. I've probably said this before, but you're just *so* good at staying IC with him, which is awesome because too many people (like myself) make him go too soft to go with the fic. Are you *sure* you've never met him?
