Del Schiz 2009-01-18 . chapter 3I like how you've written Jacqui's goodbye scene. It's good to see it narrated from her perspective, and as always, you do it very, very well. Jerrica was such a little snot in that scene, but the way you wrote this, I really felt Jacqui's caring and love even under my irritation at Jerrica.
You write Emmett's grief and disconnect incredibly well -- I enjoyed how he 'woke up' and realized that he really didn't know anything about his daughters...and the last part! Even though I give props to Mr. Benton for not going berserk on his 'slu...uh, psycho' daughter and all, this scene goes a long, long way in explaining Kimber. Or rather, series Kimber and her parade of boyfriends.
And overall, Emmett's just so...cold. It's kinda scary to realize just how cold he is. You are so very awesome for that.

 IamACritic 2008-06-06 . chapter 2wow great story |
NepenthesMiranda 2005-12-12 . chapter 4(*Grins!*) I could feel the flashbulbs popping! Jacqui's excitement is contagious! Well done, aja... it's just so sad that we all already know how this rags-to-riches tale is going to end, but it's really the daughters' lives that we're all so entwined with, isn't it? Yet this prologue is absolutely delicious, and I'm so looking forward to reading more... |
sequenceofstarz 2005-10-29 . chapter 1I look forward to more chapters. Good to see some fic devoted to Jacqui and Emmett too. |
aja 2005-10-28 . chapter 3Ha! Actually, I just pulled Em's father's name out of a proverbial hat back when I started this, but now that you mention it, it makes an odd kind of sense. |
Stormkpr 2005-10-27 . chapter 3Very descriptive, *very* well written. I love your idea of Emmett's father being named Gerald. Now we know where the name 'Jerrica' came from! |
Sarah8 2005-10-24 . chapter 3You are very, very good! And talk about doing research Jem wise. Out of the past must have been one of your favorite episodes! :) Please continue because I would love to read more! :)

NepenthesMiranda 2005-10-24 . chapter 3A new chapter up already! Whee! And... I LOVE IT! I got all tingly when Emmett realized that first true possibility for what we all know will become our Synergy. :) And he was so true to what I'd always imagined his poor, reclusive "post-Jacqui" character to be. I'm really looking forward to reading more of this JEM family chronicle as it unravels itself! |
aja 2005-10-23 . chapter 2Not the end, beautiful friend. I have more to purge. |
NepenthesMiranda 2005-10-23 . chapter 2Oh! Is that the *end* already? You really must have a talent, aja, because very few authors can actually make me tear up (even if my heart is weeping)--but that so-brief 1974 inference to Jacqui's passing and Emmett dealing with the loss of his beloved wife... oh, my... it's just that my throat's a bit constricted now! But I *so* enjoyed how you fleshed out your already-poignant tale; of course I really enjoyed it in its previous existence, too, but this revision paints a fuller, more detailed picture that hits a little bit harder against the heart. Good show! :) |
NepenthesMiranda 2005-09-21 . chapter 1What an interesting concept! There are shades and shadows of Jerrica floating around in your story that make the "Jem" fan in me that more intrigued by your plot, but as a stand-alone fiction, it works just as well. And although at this point you're probably too busy with your other "Jem" fan-fics to work any more on this (and it seems pretty complete, anyway), I would be curious to see where you'd take Emmett and Jacqui after the point you've left them at, have them live out their lives until the girls are born... just an idea. You made them seem so real to me I could see this whole 'story of their lives' concept becoming a real saga! :) |
Chris Gilbert 2005-05-13 . chapter 1This is the start of a great story, I can't wait to read more! Care to join forces? You are TRUELY OUTRAGEOUS |
AuroraRaeHunter 2002-09-07 . chapter 1wow! The characterization of Jerrica's parents is great! I really enjoyed this, plz continue! I know part 2 is up so I'll read it ASAP ;) |
