This is a perfect place for the fairytale. Wonder what Max would think if she heard herself immortalized as a princess.

Just discovered this series today and read right through and loved it. Love the details, Logan's frustrations with everyday tasks right through to Logan's fairytale. Can't wait for the next installment

Awww! You should see the smile on my face because of the way you ended this entry--with Logan reflecting on Art Attack and how beautiful Max was. *shippy sigh* I'm such a sucker for that ep. Anyway, great chapter. I always liked the conversation Logan and Charlie had in HASB, so I'm glad to see another one here--especially now that both men are being honest with each other and with themselves. I like the way Logan feels so welcome in Charlie's home, and the way he admires Charlie and Case's ability to carry on their everyday lives despite the grief they've suffered. I like the discussion of the effect of the Pulse on Charlie's adopted hometown and on the farms of the Midwest. I love the thought of Logan and Case wrestling! It's so cute and so funny, especially with Bling standing by, laughing. Finally, I love Logan's little speech about how his personality changed after the shooting, how Max was just what he needed, and how both he and Max loved each other all along but never quite managed to admit it, instead demonstrating it in their everyday interaction. Oh, one more thing--it puts a smile on my face to imagine Logan finishing this entry by fondly remembering Max in one of her golden moments. For once he doesn't end the entry on a philosophical note, or by expressing his uncertainty about the future. Those are good and typically Logan, but for now, he's just remembering the good times and that's all that matters. Love it.

Great idea use the fairy tale idea here. The simplicity of the chapter serves to emphasise the underlying themes of the human condition--as all good fairy tales do.
What a shame that the TV writers didn't explore the real possibilities for the main characters when the man was released from the tower.

Logan really has come a long way in terms of self realization since CD S1, as his musings on his relationship with Max and on his need for control in his old life show. This development in the character makes it all the more interesting to see how he will interpret the events of S2 (in fact, looking forward to any coherent interpretaiton of S2).

Ahhh...how wonderful to see the CD again. Sorry it took me so long to review. I'm so glad you brought back Charlie and Case -- I'd love to do the same. Big loose end with so much potential that has been realized here. Can't begin to even guess who wrote what, because you are all fabulous writers. I imagine that most of these chapters have a lot of all three of you embedded in their layers. Thanks for finally sharing them and I can't wait to see more.

I can see this. Logan telling this story to Case and having an emotional catharsis. You can see his resolve grow through the telling. Lovely. More Please!!

Wow, great retelling of S1 as a fairy tale. I really like this kind of thing.

This is such an emotional chapter, even though it deals with the most ordinary things: daily life, economic struggle, people getting to know each other. So sad and hopeful at the same time. I love the way Bling doesn't get on the floor, Case pulling Logan out of his self-absorption, and Logan's willingness to remember a happy time with Max without going into a tailspin about it. Sigh.
