I like how even given the truly Dark propensities he has in this fic, Severus still doesn't really want to be a Death Eater.

I don't know if you will ever see this review as the story is now so old, but what the heck. Even given the various bizarro-world-feeling differences between what we now know is canon and what you've written (such as pureblood Severus with a brother named Septimus and the scene with James telling Sirius to stop fighting Severus), I rather like the writing and the characterization of Severus - even though that too is off from what I would now consider to be proper after 7 books. It's like looking at it from a whole different angle.

i wouldn't say that you were crazy at all! i think that it was absolutely hilarious and very well done. The dialogue was fantastic - done very well in true JKR style. well done. I think the scene with the sorting hat was my favorite part. I'm looking forward to seeing how you develop the relationship between snape and Lilly. i know a lot of other authors have written about them being friends - even snape being in love with Lilly. there is some fantastic fan art around with it too.

This is a great story. Normally I don't really like those about Snape's childhood as it's more or less already been spelled out for us, but here you have come up with some very probable incidents, while maintaining perfectly his character. (something which about 90% of fanfiction writers seem unable to do)

I think my favorite part was the Sorting - I can imagine without difficulty his reaction to be exactly what you had written.

And I also go by what the other comments have said; you're writing is truly very good. Congratulations. More to come? One can only hope.

Even though I'm now writing my own version of Snape's years at Hogwarts, I'd just like to say that this is still my all-time favourite account of them. Your young Severus is, psychologically, the most realistic I have yet encountered and I must say that you have an uncommon gift for twisting your way into your characters' minds, so that we humble readers are privy to what's going on - such an uncommon gift, in fact, that I have yet to read anything better by a published author.

It is truly fantastic. The original and still the best (even after OotP and HBP).
