I'm glad for your well-researched and discrete use of Japanese words interspersing the dialogue. It adds a foreign feeling while still being able to be read by English readers. :D Just the right amount, not overwhelming at all, and you even listed them at the end. Very nice.

I love the beautiful description of the Castle, and I can just picture how confusing navigating it would be for a guest. I anxiously await more!

A name for a magic school could be "Solas Academy", or "Lunas Academy". That sounds like a prestigious name maybe, or... Perhaps a more homely name relating to stars as in "Sol School". "Sol" is the name of the sun in the Milky Way Galaxy. "Luna", "Lune", etc. is relating to the moon.

Irrelevant to space, there could be names using references from mythology. "Eros" the greek god of love or something like that (it's a shame I'm too lazy to do my research) "Eros School of Magic". Other deities could be supplemented as well, but you get the point. Stuff like this is classy. :)

I like your story so far, but your school supplies do not make sense. Why would you need two identical hats for a growing child? Two formal robes (you have to assume formal wear is expensive) for any normal eight year old would be incredibly expensive since they are going to outgrow them so quickly. How many formal functions would a typical eight year old go to anyway? Why would the fashion for english and japanese wizards be identical anyway? Why would they be using books in english. Japenese children often learn egrish, which is similar to english but they are certainly not able to be taught primary in it as their primary langage. Why would the plants be the same between England and Japan anyway? Different climates means different plants. If they don't have wands, what in the world are they going to do with the standard book of spells? Broomsticks are purportedly very expensive, requiring the purchase of same for all children would be expensive.
Sure, *Harry* might need multiple dress robes and the like due to the status of Serenity-sama, but not everyone.

Can't really say I enjoyed the logic of this chapter. On one hand I am glad the chapter length has increased, on the other you failed to really take Harry's abscence into acount. WHy are Hermonie and Ron friends? They could barely stand each other for several years, and frankly their relationship was always a question of how in the heck?

Without harry to hold them together, I never really understand how a lazy slacker with no care of any ones feelings and a slightly senstive book worm could possible get along long enough to become friends.

Then of course you have Draco being some sort of playboy.. thats just wrong.

Well the dragon lesson was interesting, but going all the way down to her oldest and most secret vault for some coins? Seems like a waste of time I kind expected her to give Harry some kind of Moon kingdom relic or something. Perhaps a moon cat familur hehe.

short, seems like chapters where nothing really happens end up being really small.
