Beautiful. Kaoru is truly in character. And the manga has her father's name as "Koshijiro"

Hai...white is for dead people in Japan. And Kaoru's father was name was read in the 5th volme of the Manga. I don't remember it right now. Oro...

^__^ It was funny waht you said at the end about what Kaoru should have done. I would have feel on my ** laughing if Kaoru did that. But sadly...Kaoru stayed in bed crying.

Anyway I just lost my father a few months ago and I can really understand what Kaoru is going though. I was there myself. So I want to thank you for writing this. It's truly a touching story. You did a great job and writing out a grieving daughter.

Great story! And I have to agree, the departure episode made me quite annoyed at Kaoru. And afterwards all she does is sit there and say "When he said good bye I couldn't do anything, wah wah wah!" And Yahiko and Megumi had to pack her up to go to Kyoto! Argh! Oh, and "Hitokiri's Anonymous," which has a huge listing of characters, and other info, and several fanfics say that Kaoru's father's name was Koshijiro. Oh well!

Kaoru's father's real name is Koshijirou. i have one of the artbooks with Watsuki-sensei characther designs and notes. i'm just relieved that i'm able to read hiragana and katana again. it's the one that covers up to the Kyoto Arc, i think "Kaden" or "Hiden". the other artbook covers the entire manga series, including an extra story of most of the gang having a picnic under the sakura trees.

and when it comes to mourning, black is also used though more commonly. i have a book on kimonos i bought a few months back. real useful if you want to make your own kimonos, save a hakama. THAT, you'll have to wing it or search like he-ll.
